I am a 25 year old single devoted Christian woman. I have been single for a little over 2 years and have spent the last year and a half growing in my faith, and becoming fully content and satisfied with my life in God alone. God willing I want to become the best wife and mother to my future husband and children, so I'm looking for specific content to read and learn from to be fully prepared for when God decides to bring a man into my life. I would appreciate any tips or recommendations on books, articles, blogs, etc.?? Thank you all so much.

Hello sister, welcome to CC.

I’d encourage you to read Proverbs 3:5-6 :) all the best and see you around the forums.

I recommend watching Heather Lindsey's videos on YouTube--she has a lot of godly insight on marriage and singleness. Also, a great book to read is "The Sacred Search" by Gary Thomas, which focuses on the purpose of marriage as God intends it--a powerful read that transformed my perspective!

Best thing I know to read (and practice!) is Philippians 4:8. It will basically cut out all malicious gossip and complaining, and everybody (including guys you might want to get to know better) will notice you. A lot. Gossip and complaining seem to be default for most people, so if you're positive and not cutting people down all the time you will stand out like a klieg light in a dark room.

Yeah, I only recommended one verse. But applying it is a daily work. I have been at it for decades and I still have to work at it.

Yes, that's a good verse, but I recommend Philippians 4:4-9 as a whole.

The best thing that you can do I think is develop relationships with the believers in your life and learn from them. But apart from that, I would recommend just reading Gospel-centered books that bring you spiritual growth and firmly root you in your identity in Christ. Matt Chandler and Tim Keller are two pastors that I love to read and listen to so I can highly recommend them both.
