So Jesus took the punishment for our sins? (is it right to use the word sins?)
You can use the word Transgressions if you like.. But sins and transgressions are the same things..

What punishment did the Messiah take that would otherwise have to be taken by us?

I am not sure if the Bible specifically states this, but all I can deduce is the punishment the world would have received would have been another global cleansing such as what happened in the great flood and what will happen during the second coming of Christ.

"All have sinned, and come short of the glory of God". Romans 3: 23. "the wages of sin is death" Romans 6: 23. The punishment that the human race would receive would be the PENALTY, and WRATH of God for all disobedience, or sin. Jesus lived a sinless life, yet suffered on our behalf, to appease that wrath, that we were penalized for. Now, all that are IN Christ, are justified from all things.

One punishment was the Messiah was without sin. Rather than doing the will of his flesh he cried out and was strengthened from within in respect to bearing our sin..

The Father working in mutual agreement with the Son. The father poured out His wrath and He continued to pour out His Spirit on the flesh of the Son of man, until the work was finished.

We live in a body of death that lusts after the the things seen. Unlike the Son of man. His desire as food was to do the will of the Father who sent Jesus as a apostle. The food the disciples knew not of. The food we know little of .

Did Jesus take the punishment for our sins? Also, would sins be the right word to use? Because there's more than one of us and we've committed more than one sin, right?
I think he took extreme and vast amount of sins we do, will do and have done.

I think the punishment Jesus took for us was that he paid the penalty for our sins so those who believe in Him will be forgiven and won't have to be in hell, I don't think it was about avoiding another flood.

People in Christian communities all over the world have been brainwashed into believing this heresy.

The truth is, Jesus was punished by mankind, because mankind hates God. Jesus suffered for us, not in place of us.
