Well, I guess it is most similar to US Football.
Basically same goals, less protection (we don't use shoulder pad, helmets or anything like that)
a lot funner, we pass backwards, we run like heck to the other side while bringing down as many people we can. It is a REAL contact sport. Also, the ball is much heavier. Catch it wrong and you can break your finger
with the right speed coming off of it. (like I did playing with my friends against a New Zealand team)

aww - the idea is to get the ball from one end of the pitch, to the other side, and slam it on the ground
