disabling voices on chat

Hi everyone. I'm new to the site and I'm sure this question has been asked a hundred times...but HOW DO I DISABLE THE VOICES IN CHAT??? iT DRIVES ME CRAZY! I tried to figure it out and checked the faq's but don't see any reference to it. Any suggestions? thanks!
 
when you first log in there is an option not to hear voices. if you miss that opportunity then there is a volume control on the bottom middle above the text type box that you can lower or mute. you can also mute your computer or turn off the sound so that you don't hear anything. failing that you can plug in headphones and not put them in your ears. hope that helps :) have a blessed day.
