When I put my curser over the thumbs up response, the row of emojis pops up for just a second then disappears. So I can't give any response except the thumbs up. How do I fix that?

Thanks

Short version:

Use Firefox.

If you don't want to use Firefox, hold your finger on the blank bar where the reactions used to be. The name of the reactions still shows up. Select the name of the one you want, then let go.

If you don't want to use Firefox and the blank bar name trick won't work... Just get used to not using reactions until the company that pushed out a faulty update fixes their mistake.

This didn't work with Chrome. Hope a future update will fix the problem.

I don't know of any that can do this for only those you have on ignore, or just the negative ones; but there are element blocking browser extensions that can entirely block all emojis. I don't really care what kind of emojis people leave for me so I just block them all; I never see them.

How do i get it ? i can use it temporarily until the person stops following me around to leave x’s.

Trying to understand which way you mean this...

Are you wanting to be able to flip a switch and you are no longer able to see negative reactions from people who are on your ignore list? That's probably easily doable.

Are you wanting to make it impossible for people on your ignore list to be able to leave negative reactions on your posts? I would hate to live in a country where that is allowed.

The one I like best is uBlock Origin. If you're using Firefox it will still work for the foreseeable future. Chrome is discontinuing it though.

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/ublock-origin/

If you've never used element blockers you may have to spend a little time learning how to use it; but it's really one of the best ones and not hard to use once you get the hang of it. If you don't like it you should be able to find others by searching Firefox add-ons. Adblock Plus has a pretty simple element blocker. It may be all you need if you just want to block emojis temporarily.

I thought that that was a purpose of ignore ,so that i can’t see their name or interact with them in anyway because if i want to look at the reactions to something i said in a post and i see their name leaving a red x on my every post then IMO why even have them on ignore if they can still bother me inconspicuously?

Beyond that. if you put someone on ignore, not only should you not see their posts, they should no longer see yours

The ignore feature is only about you ignoring them - it does not (and should not) prevent them from "reacting" to any of your posts - or restrict them to being able to add only positive ones...

But then I wouldn't have anything to mock...

Many times you put someone on ignore because their responses to your posts are falsehoods, mocking, and taking your words out of context. Since they are the offender, why allow them to continue offending?

I guess i’ll have to find a way to block ALL emojis from showing up so that I will be free of seeing someone putting a red x on my post out of spite, although I can’t see how everyone with sincere intentions reacted I won’t see the person that i have on ignores reaction to my post by using the firefox exstension that residentAlien told me about.

1) Do you see the ignore feature as something that should give you the "power" to "punish" anyone who offends you?

2) Do you believe other members should have the "power" to "punish" you "at will" if they believe you have offended them?

3) What do you do in a real-life situation where you find yourself in similar circumstances?

If, every time someone on here was offended, the offender was "punished" - the threads would be empty because everyone would be banned.

What if the "offender" is right in what they have said and you are wrong? Then what?

What if the "offender" is correct in what they have said - and, you are offended simply because you cannot handle the truth - what then?

You can't "administer at will punishment" on others just because you feel offended.

Sometimes, it is better to [just] "let God handle it" and move on...

I have a better solution. However, since you might be offended if I told you, I will not post it...

Ah good. ResidentAlien's solution will almost definitely work for what you want then.

Hopefully the element blocker you chose can specify blocking that element only on this site. Who knows how that particular element is used on other websites? You might find yourself missing some odd but important bits in the web page next time you go to Amazon. :D

You want to be able to make a statement in an open room but not let everybody in the room hear you make the statement?

Don't make the statement in an open room. You can't go around putting ear plugs in certain people's ears.

If you want to say something on an open forum, but have certain people unable to see what you said, don't say it on an open forum. That's what private messages are for.
