I know I haven't been on here in a while, but I feel I just need to tell someone. I have been discouraged lately about my relationship with God. When everyone talks about Christ's coming, I'm terrified! I know there is something wrong there, so I've been praying, but I'm still so frightened. I've been baptized for several years now, but I don't feel like my life has changed as much as it needs to. Even as I realized this I am having a hard time dealing with feelings of depression and a painful loneliness that keeps me from doing anything at all. I never go out anymore, or do anything besides go on the internet and watch TV. I don't enjoy anything anymore, and life seems so empty now. I constantly worry and have become dull and apathetic. I worry about my future, suddenly it seems like I am frozen, unable to do anything, work, college or otherwise. How will I support myself? What if I'm alone forever? And I don't just mean I want a romantic relationship, but just to connect with another person would be nice. I feel like I have no one and it's Killing Me! I fear I will fall apart. I am praying for God to help me, but I just feel so insecure in our relationship, and very, very weak. I never feel good anymore, and some days I just don't know how I can go on. I know this is a lot of venting, but I really don't have anyone to talk to and its been bottled up inside me for years. I know I am not the only one struggling with this, but it sure feels like it. Thank you anyone who will listen.

u don't need to worry ,

"For God did not send the Son into the world in order to judge (to reject, to condemn, to pass sentence on) the world, but that the world might find salvation and be made safe and sound through Him."

"He who believes in Him [who clings to, trusts in, relies on Him] is not judged [he who trusts in Him never comes up for judgment; for him there is no rejection, no condemnation--he incurs no damnation] "

"Put out of your minds the thought and do not suppose [as some of you are supposing] that I will accuse you before the Father. There is one who accuses you--it is Moses, the very one on whom you have built your hopes [in whom you trust]. "

" all whom My Father gives (entrusts) to Me will come to Me , and the one who comes to Me I will most certainly not cast out ( I will never , no never, reject one of them who comes to Me)"

i know that when we aren't sure we are loved , that God has left us it's really difficult to find a reason to do anything at all , after all we live for Him now . but His love for you in Jesus will never change will never be less and Jesus will never leave you. fear and feelings will not tell u what u need to hear , but His Word will , let your trust and faith rest there and act on it , there are wonderful things in store to be worked in and through you

"And [Jesus] said to His disciples, Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious and troubled [with cares] about your life, as to what you will [have to] eat; or about your body, as to what you will [have to] wear.
For life is more than food, and the body [more] than clothes.
Observe and consider the ravens; for they neither sow nor reap, they have neither storehouse nor barn; and [yet] God feeds them. Of how much more worth are you than the birds!
And which of you by being overly anxious and troubled with cares can add a cubit to his stature or a moment [unit] of time to his age [the length of his life]?
If then you are not able to do such a little thing as that, why are you anxious and troubled with cares about the rest?
Consider the lilies, how they grow. They neither [wearily] toil nor spin nor [i]weave; yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory (his splendor and magnificence) was not arrayed like one of these.
But if God so clothes the grass in the field, which is alive today, and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, how much more will He clothe you, O you [people] of little faith?
Do not be seized with alarm and struck with fear, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom!"

That's really uplifting. I know feelings are not necessarily truth, and certainly not in this case, but why then is it that we have so many of them? It can make things really confusing.

There's no secret in being a stronger person, you just think of the responsible thing to do, then do it. Motivational factors play a big part, but you can't place all blame on them. It helps to have a person in real life who understands the problem and is willing to 'kick' you/pick you up, if one can't lift themselves up on their own.

If I was to use intuition, it sounds like you always feel judged somehow, paralyzed, not wanting to be seen. Admittedly most of this is probably in your mind, but the mentality needed is let them, ask yourself what makes a good person, how should a person judge themself, how should a person who wishes to change themself think?.

tbh I used to have this sort of paralysis, now I'm just intolerant (in a good hearted way) of seeing others or letting myself into a similar situation.

we do have many feelings but as we start to depend more and more on what God says ,our feelings align with His Word , the more we meditate on His Word the less room wrong feelings will have and rights ones take their place

I know how you are feeling. I have been A christian for a long time. I can tell you that what depresses me is when I am engaged in a sin that I know I should repent of. Guilt of the sin is usually what depresses us. Sloth is a sin. Not joing other believers regularly to worship is a sin, and so on. You need to find a church where God's holiness and His word are exalted, attend regularly, even when you don't feel like it, and fellowship with other believers. I can also reccomend to you that you go to sermonaudio.com and listen to sermons by John MacArthur or Jay Adams. Ask other believers to pray for you to stop giving in to your feelings and any other thing that hinders you from allowing your light to shine as a follower of Christ.
