I didn't realize any thing that distracts you from God's will is sinful and finds its root in Satan and this fleshy world.
Satan will use any thing to get you to do things that are wrong. Even things that ere good in themselves but if you do them instead of doing GOD's WILL in your life then you are sinning.
For example it is good to read a book about the Bible, but it would be better to LIVE the Bible and show God's love to people.
It is good to help strangers, but it would be better for me to focus on my kids and raising them in the ways and precepts of God so they may be His children
It is good to pray for the world and everyone who needs to be saved, but it sinful to dwell and be in despair about all the evil in the world and feel hopeless to help anyone because of all the wickedness you see in the news and in your own life.
It is sinful to lose focus on what GOD has given us to do.
We should focus every moment to living for GOD's glory. We should live in His peace and ways every moment. We should rejoice and praise God with whatever we DO not just think and plan always for the future or dwell in mistakes of the past be they our own or the world's mistakes.
We should not seek to know the future or contemplate on things we can't change. We should focus on what God wants us to do RIGHT NOW. not later. Planning is good but if Satan uses it as a distraction from you actually DOING God's will then it is sinful.
Study is good but if it keeps you from DOING GOD's will and interacting with God's PEOPLE, then its sinful.
God is not found in books and words but in the interaction and LOVE between PEOPLE.
God tells us this in His word.
Matthew 6:33-34 (New King James Version)
33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble
