Often when i hear people say they spoke to God, and they say things like : God said this about my marriage , or God is telling me to make these changes in my life, or God told me where to park my car, or God told me this great thing ( that so happens always not to be written ),,,
I have to sit and wonder what these people will act like if they actually had the supernatural appear before them.

This reminds me of Daniel.

Daniel 10 :

5 Then I lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and behold a certain man clothed in linen, whose loins were girded with fine gold of Uphaz:

6 His body also was like the beryl, and his face as the appearance of lightning, and his eyes as lamps of fire, and his arms and his feet like in colour to polished brass, and the voice of his words like the voice of a multitude.

7 And I Daniel alone saw the vision: for the men that were with me saw not the vision; but a great quaking fell upon them, so that they fled to hide themselves.

8 Therefore I was left alone, and saw this great vision, and there remained no strength in me: for my comeliness was turned in me into corruption, and I retained no strength.

9 Yet heard I the voice of his words: and when I heard the voice of his words, then was I in a deep sleep on my face, and my face toward the ground.

10 And, behold, an hand touched me, which set me upon my knees and upon the palms of my hands.

11 And he said unto me, O Daniel, a man greatly beloved, understand the words that I speak unto thee, and stand upright: for unto thee am I now sent. And when he had spoken this word unto me, I stood trembling.

12 Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words.

This was an awesome encounter with the supernatural . So when people say God told them to make a carrier change. I might laugh and think of Daniel.

One thing is clear from the scriptures. If God decides to talk to you, it will be for His will . And it will change your whole outlook on life. It is no small thing.

Daniel for example " "" from the first day that he did set this heart to understand, and to chasten his self before his God, his words were heard,. And it was not for his personal gain. It was for God's will be done.

Daniel was greatly beloved for his actions. If we want to be visited, I think we better be right with God, or it could be more then we are able to handle.

I had an experience once where I felt Jesus was sitting next to me and hugging me. I also felt him say, "Don't worry, it's going to be all right." I couldn't see Him or actually hear Him -- it was purely a feeling.

I was a bit low and depressed and I prayed for help, and the next thing I knew, He was there right next to me. Was it a divine visitation? Sure felt like it.

With that said, I don't think divine visitations result in divine revelations. All that has been completed.

Yes, it happens. Nathan is right except in one regard. You don't have to be right with God yet or have some holy standard.

Santuzza is right except that the Lord can reveal, visit, hide and pretty much do whatever He wants when He wants.

Always inline with His word.

Can one have a Divine visitation with Jesus today? as with Moses or Saul/Paul

Answer: Yes

Jeremiah 33:3 Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.

God will answer us just as he answer the prophets and his 12 disciples God bless :)

The difference is that Daniel, living pre-Christ, was taken up into the heavens and encoutered things there. We live in a time where the divide has been crossed, and we may encounter the Holy Spirit here.

What I don't believe is that God's never spoken to you. I can't imagine that He's not tried to.

It has happened. Today Jesus still speaks to His flock. I don't think we'll ever see Jesus in person because Jesus warned us this would not happen until he returns. He even warned us of many false Christs coming to deceive others. satan himself can apear as a divine angel of light. So it is important to test the spirits.

I thank you all for your responses,I thought something was wrong with me. I have personally experienced the small still voice, vision, dreams but my hearts desire is to speak to the lord face to face
Just after I was saved (mid-twenties) I was seeking the baptism of the Holy Spirit. One day as I was sleeping (day) I heard a clap of thunder in my head then a voice called my name.I saw/felt my spiritual body rise from my physical, towards a bright golden light from whence this voice called from. But through fear and not knowing what was happening,I forced my spiritual body back into my physical body, the voice called my name again but softer.I kept forcing my self in until I woke up.The funny thing about it was I had only closed my eyes,I'm not even sure if I was asleep. I guess this what I wish to experience again hopefully with better results.Mind you,it took me another eight years before I finally got baptised in the spirit but Praise the Lord

I don't think we'll ever see Jesus in person...

John 20v29: 'Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed...'

Acts 22v8,14: 'I am Jesus of Nazareth, whom thou persecutest...And he said, The God of our fathers hath chosen thee, that thou shouldest know his will, and see that Just One, and shouldest hear the voice of his mouth.'

And so forth...

It not normative. Whether in dream or vision, or experience are not totally reliable and always need to be tested up against an objective foundation, namely the Word of God.
