I feel so overwhelmed right now. The way my ex husband has the divorce agreement is I get the van loan note, the insurance, all of the credit cards in my name & I just don't know how I can pay for it all w.o. a job. We have about 3 weeks left before we go in front of the judge, & I am so depressed. I really thought I could do this but I feel like I've been hit by a semi. It takes everything I have not to break down in public. I put on a good front but deep down I feel the suicidal thoughts coming back. Please pray I can find a job really soon. Otherwise I don't know what I'll do. The only bright spot is I don't have to pay child support for a year, but I still have to find a way to keep my van so I can work. Thanks to everyone here who is praying for me. I really, really appreciate it.

I'll definitely keep you in my prayers. That seems like a very difficult situation. Hopefully you'll be able to find some sort of job and be able to afford it. It's kind of sad that he's leaving you with so much debt. But I guess what is, is.

Divorce is very stressful, but there is an end to the pain. I have not reached it myself, but God is faithful.
Here's a practical tip or two:
1) You don't have to agree to his proposition. So if The Lord didn't tell you to, don't agree.
2) Connect with other people in a similar situation. DivorceCare.com is a great resource. I went through it and I have long lasting friends from it.
3) If you feel like breaking down, then do it. Do not avoid the grief or it will not end. I've found myself in situations where I'm triggered and I'm still learning not to judge plow through the pain and move on. I have to choose to dig into it.

Thank you for your prayers. I know God will get me through this & anything else that is to come. I will definetly check out that website. It may be just what I need. If I were to explain my situation from the beginning it would take up a lot of room lol. But I can probably narrow it down to a few paragraphs....someday.

Praying for God to bless you...

I think you can contest some of those bills.
If the Credit cards were charged up while you were both still together,
He should have to pay for some of them.
Praying also for the judge to be fair.

Yes, don't agree to anything.(Don't sign anything)
Get a good lawyer and whatever you do, don't go in there alone!!

Praying for you my sister, let Jesus fight this battle and lean not on your own understanding. God Bless You

God bless this family

Praying ... please do an amazing miracle for this family, Lord Jesus. One way or another ... Your love is so amazing in itself :).

Abba, we bring our sister, Texan, to the Throne of Grace.
Thank You for her new life in the Lord Jesus.
Thank You for the internet, and for this website.
Abba, just as You have always cared for her, even when she didn't realize it,
please care for her now.
Help her to see past the fear and sorrow--to Jesus.
Lord God, You became a man and you know just what it feels like to be us.
How great a Creator! How wonderful You are!
You became a man! You lowered Yourself because You Love!
Please, manifest this love to Texan in ways she sees and feels.
Provide her with a job, a terrific job, and let us all praise You for it.
And while she waits for Your goodness, cause her to offer a sacrifice of praise,
because it will bless her, and because You deserve it!
Please, Abba, make our sister know she dwells securely with You
and that surely goodness and mercy will follow her ALL the days of her life,
because she is Yours.
I ask these things, and I thank You so much, in Jesus' Name.
so be it. ♥

We've got such a situation going on in our prayer group, so I get to be involved every week. Get a lawyer, and sock it to the guy. Don't be a doormat. He's leaving you, remember?

Texan,
There are a few things that you should really focus on. Most likely there are some guilt and shame feelings about getting the divorce, perhaps some resentment and residual pain. The Bible says and ALL the DO GOODERS will always harass you and say the divorce is not God's way, but in some cases it is. All men and women weren't created equal and some marriages are just a mistake and getting a divorce is just part of fixing the problem. Try not to harbor resentment or hatred towards your ex, because these things will make you get down and depressed. The finances will be whatever they are after the court date, at this point you have to make your case to present it before the judge. Aften then you will be at a point where you can at least establish where you are financially and make plans to accomodate your finances.

I am in a similar situation, and until the court has heard my case as well, then all I can do is worry about it, which brings me down. It is true that talking it over makes you feel better.

Also, take the time to spend in the scriptures, and of course, in your heart, reach out to your heavenly Father as well. He knows your situation and we do have an advocate with Him through Jesus. So take the time and spend a bit with Him and let Him know your struggles.

God Bless

Incidentally... Why didn't you get the kids and why are you paying support??? This is odd.

The older ones are the ones who found the text messages between me & the other guy. They asked me if anything was going on, but I piled lie on top of lie. Finally they told my ex & he confronted me & I lied to him too. I really emotionally damaged them & I see that now. And I'm not even financially stable & I have no where for them to live if I were to get them.

Sin does a lot of damage. Jesus does a lot of fixing. That's why you and your ex- (yet?) need to decide what you are going to do, and close this chapter out. You need to get the drama down, so Jesus can speak to all of you without interference.
