I find myself in a very strange wilderness which I never expected. I married when I was 22, and never expected to be divorced. At 43, I find myself divorced for a year. For the first time, now, I am wondering how to be "single". I am a spiritual leader in a small town. I don't want to live alone for the rest of my life, yet it is a very precarious situation. Any tips on how to meet new people and have a social life without it negatively affecting my ministry?

I married when I was 24 and like you never expected to be divorced. Now, I have been single for more than two years and I am loving it. I love the independance that I have, I am free to attend all our church meetings and also enjoy looking after my three yonger children. I see them as a blessing to have their company where ever I go. On the other hand I also longs and hope that I will be able to enjoy the company and the companionship of someone of like mind, heart and soul to live the rest of our life in honour of our God and saviour Jesus Christ.

I believe that God will grant you your heart desire and you definitely needs the weaker vessel's support in your ministry. I do not see how can your social life affect your ministry in a negative way? For as long as our social life is allign with God's will and purpose for our life I do not see any problem. However, on the other hand if the social life that you talk about is out of bound with God's purpose and will for our life then it is wrong.

Very simple!!! Be ye holy for I am holy!!!..............I believe that the most enjoyable social life that a man and a woman can have is the one that is in line with God's holyness................ Thank God that you have the opportunity to do it right this time.

I have no answers for you, but a ton of compassion and prayers.

Maybe the best thing for now is to just be still, you know? When I'm not sure what to do, for me it is often best to pause and wait for God's direction to come. He is faithful. :)

Thank you, so much, Julianna! You are SO right. Your compassion and wisdom are very much appreciated!!! God bless you! ;-)
