Satan is a Word-twister. He did it in the Garden when Eve was in the mood for a piece of fruit, and he still does it today. He has found that we are more apt to swallow half-truths than blatant lies.
When we chose to trust God and walk in Faith, Satan whispers that God can do a lot He can even do many things, but not all things. But Numbers 23:19, tells us that God is not a man that He should lie. If God says , "all things," then that is exactly what He meant.
One thing I have learned in my [53 days
] of being on this planet is, Challenges teach us two things: Something about God, and something about us.
Satan's primary object is not to get us to sin, but simply to make it easy for us to do so by getting us off the ground of perfect triumph on to which the Lord has brought us. Thru the avenue of the head or of the heart, thru our intellect or our feelings, he assaults our rest in Christ or our walk in His Spirit.
But for every point of his attack defensive armor is provided, the Helmet and the Breastplate, the , (ready for this men?), the girdle, and the shoes. While over all is the shield of faith to turn aside the fiery darts.
Faith says: Christ is exalted.
Faith says: We are saved by grace.
Faith says: We have access thru Him.
Faith says: He indwells us by His Spirit. .....Ephesians 1:20; 2:8; 3:12, 17.
Because Victory is His, therefore it is ours. If only we will not try to gain victory but simply to maintain it, then we shall see the enemy utterly routed.
We must not ask the Lord to enable us to overcome the enemy, nor even look to Him to overcome, but praise Him because He has already done so; He is the Victor!
It is all a matter of Faith in Him. If we believe the Lord, we shall not pray so much but rather we shall praise Him more. The simpler and clearer our Faith in Him, the less we shall pray in such situations and the more we shall praise. How do real Christians actually have real peace in the middle of the battle? This is it!
God never asks us to do anything we can do. He asks us to live a life which we can never live and to do a work which we can never do. Yet, by His grace, we are living it and doing it.
Self is the only obstruction to that life and to that work. May we each one pray from our hearts: "O Lord, deal with me!"
As we face opposition in a force we have no hope to concur, we need to , then, stop trying to fight the dark- force leader to gain ground.
Simply sit in things already accomplished in Christ, then walk in resting in that finished work of the Lord Jesus. That rest is the source of our strength for a consistent and unfaltering walk in the World.
And at the end of a grueling warfare with the hosts of darkness we find ourselves standing with Him at last in triumphant possession of the field.
"Unto Him.....be the glory......FOREVER!"
