In Time We Become Without Fault,

So says Paul in Philippians and in this, we will
become purified in thoughts and love and the
way we follow Christ our Lord. We shouldn't
compare ourselves to others but rather we are
to strive to constantly follow the examples of
Jesus. As Paul also did, we should do with the
love of Jesus. First we have to really become
the best Jesus we can be. We do our best to
internalise His thoughts and words as are the
ways shown in the Gospels and the letters.
But at the same time, we do things joyfully, go
about our work joyfully and without doing them
because we have to do them. Yes we need to
be disciplined but we make that discipline our
love and joy. In that way we are forever doing
the love of God.

Dusty, I thank you for the way this is worded.
Yes, there are times when I want to grumble, or sigh against, or grit my teeth.
But the true love that God wants us to have is no fairy tale happiness.

It is the day-to-day, moment-by-moment determination, with thanksgiving in our hearts and songs of praise on our lips, that God wants me to experience and practice. His Love and Joy are a fruit of the Holy Spirit, through Christ Jesus. Therefore,
while many non-believers exhibit happiness, elation, mirth on earth-- the work that should have godly Joy is never apart from God.

Your post, supported by Scripture, reminds me to rejoice in the very work, menial tasks, frustrating moments, over-burdened assignments, and demands of people. Because this is a witness to others, and because it is what God wants in my relationship with Him,I live to Love.

Pray I abide in Him today. Pray that I remember your post and related scriptures when tempted.
For His Glory,

About grumbling, I agree with the posting. But, I do not "stuff" my feelings about things and get right to rejoicing or giving thanks. I first pour out my grumbles and honest feelings to the Lord. We are told to pour out our hearts to the Lord.

What happens then, is receiving His response. Usually it is a peaceful feeling, or a new perspective and His thoughts. Which, of course, then leads to rejoicing.

From that place, I then give thanks for everything (you just can't grumble and give thanks at the same time).
