Do good, even if it is for love of yourself:
When someone tells you off, disparages you or eggs on people against you, keep in mind that when the evil is practiced, the sinners are in contradiction, that is, doing the evil against themselves.
So, have a nice day loving the enemies (Matthew 5.44,45) that, in virtue of they can’t get rid of the evil that torment them, aren’t able to experience the true good within them. Don’t try to get even with them lest you be reached for the evil:
After all, the good reward doesn’t come from men, but from the Father of the Lights (Isaiah 49.4; James 1.17,18).
- “For consider Him who endured such contradiction of sinners against Himself, lest you be weary and faint in your minds. You have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.” (Hebrews 12.3,4).
