Do good works and help, but only in what it is necessary and that brings edification:
Work in order to be able to allot with the needy what is good to the eyes of the Creator. That is to say, it isn’t what the person pine for receiving (see Acts 3.3-5) or what you consider being good to the individual (see Mark 6.37; Luke 9.13), but what Jesus has for them.
Let’s please and supply the needs of people that come to us according to the riches of the Creator, and not pursuant to our miseries. May His glory supply both we and the person that came to us in favor of Christ Jesus and His will for us (meditate on Romans 12.1), and not pursuant to the stingy interests, whether our or of the other person.
And our help has to take into account what is really good for the individual (nothing of illusory blessings, that is to say, that it has nothing to do with the good, pleasant and perfect will of the Creator for him – Romans 12.2), and this for his edification.
Don’t dally doing good works in picayune or evil things! In other words, do not labor for the food that perishes, but for that food which endures to everlasting life (John 6.27).
So, have a good week walking circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, redeeming the time (Ephesians 5.15,16). After all, the days are evil and sufficient to the day is the evil of it (Matthew 6.34). With so many good, necessary and edifying things to do, why lose time on what is bad, vain or destructive? Our live is so short (Job 14.1; Isaiah 40.3-6; James 4.14)…
Value the gift of Jesus in your life!
- “Let him who stole steal no more, but rather let him labor, *working with his hands the thing which is good*, so that he may have something to give to him *who needs*.” (Ephesians 4.28).
