Do guys that are close friends with other guys help them find a girlfriend?

Do guys that are close friends with other guys help them find a girlfriend, or at least introduce them to new girls?
 
Last year my best friend, who is already dating a gal, tried getting me to ask out a girl who goes to his church. I entertained the idea until he told me she was 18(college freshman). I was like "Nahhhhhhhhhhhhh. Thanks for trying to help a friend out though.". That's about all of that story.lol
 
False. All that close guy friends do to help each other is either fart in your face and laugh about it. Eat all your food in the house and laugh about it or date your younger sister and laugh about it.

I think you're talking about two boys at the age of twelve....
 
I would not think it is my responsibility to set anyone up, male or female. I also don't expect anyone else to set me up either. I don't get why people think their love life is anyone elses responsibility.

Far as the whole 'all guys do is fart, etc..' comment, i find it ironic coming from a female, who only see's one side of how guys act and assume that is all there is to them. When i was a teen did we do all that silly stuff? Yeah, we did. Was that all we did? Not at all. A few of my friends and i started a bible study. My best friend through my teens we often discussed our faith, our struggles, the bible. We tried to help each other through the tough times. Correct each other when needed.

I hate being set up and I would not wish that upon anyone. Now if someone is subtle and says something like, "Don't you think so and so is (smart, cool, amazing, neat, pretty, thoughtful, etc)?" I might try to get to know that person. However, if someone introduces us, I will be skeptical.


The worst attempt is usually the invite both parties to something and then you the coordinator flake but tell the people that you are seeing to have fun without you.

I think if people have the freedom to see and enjoy each other's company they will. However if pushed, people will become skeptical.

Well all my guy friends are just dead ends. Though now I'm able to become friends with girls and start hanging out with them, things might change. ^_^ I mean, girl are more likely to do that type of thing right?
 
A guy that I was on a business trip with (that is old enough to be my dad) was trying to set me up with his niece...so I guess the answer is yes?

But in all actuality, GOD is WAY better at finding a mate than any guy friend you will EVER have.
 
In matchmaking scenarios, my question is if the other person is so great, then why isnt the matchmaker with them?
 
I mean we might 'wingman' each other when we go out, but we dont set up blind dates or anything

I'm just naturally suspicious about people's motives when it comes to things like that, even if it were to come from a married friend.

My friends, guys and girls, have suggested certain people that I should date. But my friends have never set me up with one that I like.
 
I really don't think guys often set up other guys. He might introduce you to some friends of his that are girls, and maybe throw in a good word here and there. As others suggested, he might mention a few girls at some point or other. That's about it.

Why such a lack of perseverance? The hardest challenges are the most satisfying are they not?




Dot get off the computer and go socialise. Try dancing, salsa is fun and very social.



I'm all for setting people up but I think it is going to be extremely difficult to make work. People have different needs and different things that they are looking for, I know it would be a nightmare for the person trying to find a right person for me. Don't mind them trying though. hahaha. :)

well... i promised to help my friend, but...only if he will buy me a house close to river or something :D

He likes blonde girls. Most of my friends are brunettes. He needs a funny, smart, good looking, christian...a girl who will motivate him to do somethng... and so on and so on. The list is so long-that i said-ok, i changed my mind. I don't need a house close to river ( he promised me that he will buy a house for me if i will find a wife for him). LOL

And he is not one of those 'i like salsa' guys. He likes to ride a motorcycle. :)
