Do Mermaids exist?

lol. its a very silly question and im watching the little mermaid as we speak. just thinking is it possible that something of the sort does exist? not necessarily living people with souls, but some sort of creature?
 
well, i would say that the answer would be no...lol but anything is possible! there are still many species to be discovered in the ocean. and i recall somebody finding fish with faces resembling men! you can look it up on youtube. god bless you :D
 
hahah , i was thinking of the little mermaid too . by the way i watched a show on tv about wildlife and they said that sailors ,at the time of the great voyages , thought manatees were mermaids , they were probably drunk :p . they might be the closest to a mermaid or they might find another species in the future yeah, but like Ariel i guess not :)
 
Mermaids probably never existed. I think if they did, they'd be extinct.

My mom used to say that the only way my younger brother would ever get married is if he found a mermaid because he was always out fishing.

Now he collects rocks and hunts as well so maybe he will get a woman that way.
 
Hello- i just joined this forum i happened across this thread after watching the CNN Special about mermaids well my favorite book Psalms has 3 verses 6,7,8 that i believe pertain to this phenomena 6) "Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all _things_ under his feet 7) All sheep and oxen,yea and the beasts of the field;8) The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and _whatsoever_ passeth through the paths of the seas.
 
sorry i keep reposting i just keep thinking of this stuff after i post what do you think whatsoever means? also those mermaids just started showing up in Israel, the holy land is that a coincidence?
 
I don't see the reference from the bible as related to meremaids (ps, this is an ooold thred ;D )

........ok, lemme see, so, if I understand............ANGELS are ALWAYS men, and MERMAIDS are ALWAYS womens......is that right? Hmmmmmmmm, seems rather sexists to me........

were mermaids created when the sons of God "knew" the women of the earth who lived near the sea?
 
'Mermaids' do exist, in spiritual form. The pagan god Dagon was a half man half fish idol. My wife says theres stories along the coast of Kenya of 'mermaids' manifesting as flesh, seducing men and the men never to be seen again. We both dont know if the stories have any truth to them but I wouldnt be suprised if it were, since the african continent is rife with weird demonic spirituality.
