Do you crave for gaining much treasure for what? To get in trouble?
If you pine for being rich, first of all, grow in the fruit of the Holy Spirit. Otherwise, the wealth only will disturb you:
• Pro 15:6 -> “In the house of the righteous is much treasure, but in the gain of the wicked is trouble.”.
See some of the troubles which the wealth brings to the wicked:
• Jas 5:1-3 -> “Come now, rich ones, weep and howl for your hardships coming on. Your riches have rotted, and your clothes have become moth-eaten. Your gold and silver have corroded, and their poison will be a witness against you, and will eat your flesh as fire. You heaped treasure in the last days.”.
• Ecc 5:10,12,13 -> “He who loves silver shall not be satisfied with silver, and he who loves abundance not with gain. This is also vanity. The sleep of a laboring man is sweet, whether he eats little or much; but the abundance of the rich will not allow him to sleep. There is a sore evil which I have seen under the sun, namely, riches kept for their owners to their hurt.”.
It isn’t in vain that the psalmist said:
• Psa 37:16 -> “A little to the righteous is better than the riches of many wicked.”.
After all:
• Pro 21:20 -> “A desirable treasure and oil are in the home of the wise; but a foolish man swallows it up.”.
So, instead of laboring to be rich (contradicting Prov 23:4), have always in your mind that better is a hand filled with rest in Jesus’ will for us than two fists with travail and vexation of spirit (Ecc 4:6).
If, on the one hand, wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just, on the other hand a good man leaves an inheritance to his sons' sons (Prov 13:22).
So, have a good day fearing the Creator. After all:
• Psa 112:1-3 -> “Praise Jehovah! Blessed is the man who fears Jehovah, who delights greatly in His Commandments. His seed shall be mighty on earth; the generation of the upright shall be blessed. Wealth and riches shall be in his house, and his righteousness stands forever.
