"His eye is on the sparrow and I know He watches over me..." Curious on what others think that means....

Anyway if you also query the meaning of song lyrics maybe jot them down here too...

Reference to Matthew 10:29-31. "...one of them shall not fall to the ground without your Father...fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows." Such a beautiful thought that God cares for us so much.

And what do y'all think of Cory Asbury's song Reckless, specifically the lyric "...reckless love of God" Since about day one of hearing that song I was uncomfortable with describing God's love like that. I don't think anything God does is reckless.

I don't want to be critical but we are exhorted to "sing with the understanding."

I remember watching a video criticizing Bethel music. But I agree with you. But then what if its something like saying God is a jealous God? Maybe the artist sees God as taking a risk on him that he doesnt quite feel is deserved?

Maybe the difference is that it actually says that in the Word so we know that's true, you know? About Him being a jealous God.

I understand the sentiment behind the lyric. Like the prodigal son's father running to him when he saw him coming home. BUT reckless means without thought, basically careless, so I don't like describing God's love like that. I heard a teaching that said "selfless" would be a more fitting word for that line.

Ok so here's what I think ever heard of Jason Grey's sparrows
Well if so good for you it's awesome
If not it's highly recommended
Anyway Jason speaks of the sparrows whom knows he holds tomorrow so we are asked somewhat to look to the sparrow who knows and lives on in the light of God

For your lyrics they again use the sparrow what yours speaks to ne is that God is watching the sparrows just as he is us we are equal so since he watches the sparrow he is surely watching us as well

In my thought I think it's accurate sort of humor me
Ok so it's sead that God loves all of us in such a way that nothing can get between us even sin which we know he dealt with im not saying God is careless its also said in the chores the following "chases me down fight till I'm found leaves the ninety-nine " more prospective is needed lyrics in a song are sung together in sync splicing one lyric away from the rest can remove or alter the meaning
I feel that what he's saying is that God will do anything without thinking twice about it for he knows all

I hope this helps God bless snd may the light provide

I see your point I guess. But where in scripture does it say sin can't get between us and God?

Ok you have a point haven't read my Bible in. A good bit however in my understanding God sent his son to die for us to die for us and I guess if I think about sin can have an effect in the matter

Exodus 20:5
You must not bow down to them or worship them, for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God who will not tolerate your affection for any other gods.
