Do you pine for being guarded and getting success in your walking with Christ?
• “Righteousness guards the perfect of way, but wickedness *subverts a sin-offering* .” (Prov 13:6 - MKJV).
• “Righteousness guardeth him that is upright *in the way*; But wickedness overthroweth the sinner.” (Prov 13:6 – ASV).
First principle: it isn’t sufficient to be righteous. We need to be honest in HIS way (that is to say, Jesus – John 14:6) and bide for HIM:
• “And from forever they have not heard, nor did they listen. Eye has not seen a God except You, who works for him who waits for Him. You meet him who rejoices and works righteousness, those who remember You in Your ways…” (Isa 64:4,5).
Second principle: offer to Jesus a contrite and broken heart, which fear and tremble before His Word (Isaiah 66:2):
• “Therefore if you offer your gift on the altar, and there remember that your brother has anything against you, leave your gift there before the altar and go. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift.” (Mat 5:23,24).
After all:
• “If anyone says, I love God, and hates his brother, he is a liar. For if he does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen? And we have this commandment from Him, that he who loves God should love his brother also. Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has been born of God. And everyone who loves Him who begets also loves him who has been born of Him. By this we know that we love the children of God, whenever we love God and keep His commandments.” (1John 4:20-5:2).
So, have a good week focusing only on His ways and, chiefly, if it is possible, as far as is in you, being in peace with all men. (in the peace of Christ, of course, and not in the “peace” that the world give us - Rom 12:18; John 14:27).
