What do you think about people who marry have different Christian beliefs, for example, a Protestant and a Catholic

Hmmm. Good question. It really depends on the couple I think. I would never not date someone or marry someone because we were a different religion. If the relationship ever got to the stage where marriage was a possibility then the relationship should continue if it has yet to be an issue. I have had people on this website tell me not to date someone who was a different religion than me and different ethnic background as me. So it really depends upon their perspective. I think if you love someone, than not much should stand in the way of the couple being together. However, I also think that the issues of children and holidays and the like should be discussed prior to running to the altar.
i personally being protastant would never marry a catholic unless i thought that catholic may be converted to protestent..
i would want to raise the children one way - and that person may want to raise the children as a catholic, i couldnt live with that..so i would only mary a protestant i thinks
While I respect that certain people want to only marry with their own beliefs, I think it's unfair to the kid to teach them about your religion only.
You should show them what's out there when they're at a decent age and let them decide for themselves.

It's not impossible for the marriage to work, but I know that should I marry, I'd rather not have an Evangelical. I could marry a Catholic, I think, or someone who has a High Church orientation.

Because my beliefs and understanding of Christianity are just on a completely different level to the normal Evangelical interpretation.

No. As far as my beliefs go, I'm pretty much in line with Catholic thought, to the point where I'm sure many have mistaken me for a Papist. You can place me on the banks of the Tiber, testing the water, so to speak.

Technically no, since I am not in communion with Rome. Presently, I'm Church of England.

he meansw dont teach them religion - hes an athiest , he thinks a child shouldnt be taight religion, let it make up its own mind ... i dont think that is how a child shoyuld be raised - ur the parent, u should be giving ur child guidence , show them right from wrong. thats the purpose of the parent imo..

I half way agree w/ him. My parents taught me Christianity and I think they are hypocrites and if he's a hypocrite what's the point in you saying about teaching them about God. please tell me you aren't preaching to him.
well maybe ur parents r hypocrites - mines arnt thou. I belive the role of the parent should be to guide there children, tech them right from wrong and teach them about God, and salvation.
i am saying if u r a protastant u mary a catholic...u may have diffrent veiws on how ur children should be raised. U may want to raise them as protastant and teach them to pray to The Lord Jesus Christ and The Lord God our Saviour. while ur husband, being protastant, want to raise the children the children with diffrent religious veiws. Teaching the children to pray to Mary.
I am not neccesarily preaching to him i am debating with him whether God is real, how the Earth was made...etc etc
so wot if i am preaching with him- whats wrong with a child of the lord spreading Gods word? have u got a problem with that?
