Do you vote the Bible?

Whenever you vote, whether it be in an election or with your wallet, do you vote according to biblical principles?

I myself don't care too much for the right/left war because im somewhat cynical and see it as corrupt/corrupt, but i do make sure and do my homework on biblical issues. The major biblical voting issues of our time seemingly being the right to life for unborn image-bearers, the fight against moral decay and holding the line in God's institution of marriage, and finally whether the they themselves are self described believer or are at least not anti christian.

I ask because i have met quite a few christians and catholics who vote absolutely contrary to the Bible and it makes no sense to me. So if you don't vote according to biblical principles, could you explain why?
 
Its hard in the UK to vote with your bible. None of the main
political groups have Godly values so its a matter of voting for
the one which you think will do the least harm.
 
right to life straight up.

doesn't make a difference in elections, but it does to me. :)

Same thing in the US.... We, just try to claim one side or the other really DOES have God in mind. But, in truth, we know better.

I can't vote by Bible principles unless I constantly vote E. None of the above. They lie. They have been saying for 43 years that they will give the rights back to babies. Um, when? Once the election is over, they don't even understand what that phrase means until the next elections. Do you think they're going to tithe? Do you even think they're going to trust in God?

How do you vote by Biblical principles?
 
I go by what they mouth.
If A says 'read your bibles' and B says 'read Mein Kampf', well yeah, I'm goin with A.

Usually it means voting for someone i know wont win

how many politicians have bought naive Christians' votes and then gone on to do nothing at all about the reason they voted for them?

aren't pleading the cause of the poor and not giving gifts to the rich "biblical principles" too?

what about "not being entangled with affairs of the world" -- that's also biblical, right?

Biblical principles is the foundation of my political activity. How I approach voting is by carefully researching each candidate I am considering voting for. I DO NOT vote PARTY. I seek to find a candidate that mirrors God's principles and my beliefs regardless of the party he/she belongs to. I then seek to see if they "live" their asserted beliefs. In today's world, this is not a difficult task given how pretty much anything someone wants to know about a politician/candidate is on the internet.

As you stated, this will most of the time end up with my voting for someone who will not win. However, this is only in relation to National elections. When broken down to the State/County/City level of politics, the winner can quite often be a believer in and disciple of Christ. I see it all the time in my area.

Well,some of us live in places where option A is the only one running in the local elections,option B is write in only. :p
(Guess who ALWAYS wins)
 
More like a christening? :)

IMO, that happens far too often.............I would do a "write in" vote just as a protest to there not being a REAL election.

But, that's just me.
