In Ezekiel 2:8-10 thru 3:1-3 we have a similar scripture where Ezekiel is told to eat the scroll, which is figurative of the word of God as food. For after he eats the scroll Ezekiel is told to go to the house of Israel and speak God's words to them. It is the same here with John. When the angel says, "You must prophesy again before many peoples, nations, languages and kings." I don't believe that the word "again" is in reference to the book or Revelation having been previously prophesied about, but is referring to the fact that John prophesied about the word of God before he was banished to the island of Patmos and that he was not going to remain in exiled and would have opportunity to prophesy to peoples, nations, languages and kings about all of this information contained in the book of Revelation.
That OK. Some statements on Christian forum are indeed laughable -- absurd. Not sure if it applied to your discussions on this thread, but a lot of iinterpretations of Bible prophecy are absurd. Such as Preterism which is pure fantasy.
The reason why I say "additional information" is because in Revelation 5 none of what is the 7 sealed scroll had been looked on until the Lamb was slain.
I think it's always been this way. In Thessalonians I notice that Paul is telling them not to be carried away in their thinking that the day of the Lord was then past as if they were afraid they had missed it. I notice that even though they didn't understand that(eschatology) that Paul still loved them and saw them precious.
What's even more laughable and fantasy is believing there are two prophets with asbestos lips with fire coming out of their mouths.
That is what the natural man would say. The spiritual man would say that that is a metaphor for bringing divine judgments upon the earth -- calling down fire from Heaven. In Revelation 11 there are metaphors as well as realities. And they can be easily distinguished.
Yes interesting parable.. The two witnesses, the law and the prophets (sola scriptura ) .As the letter of the law. . . kills... Not one jot or tittle will be removed from it until the last day. Those asbestos lips will be cooled down and never rise in temperature forevermore.

There is nothing parabolic about Revelation 11. Indeed Revelation 11, 12, and 13 are all revelations of things which will occur during the 3 1/2 year reign of the Antichrist (the Beast of Revelation 13)
To prophecy is to declare the will of God without reference to time. (past, present, future). in any book .
To prophecy again would be to continue declaring it as the word of God. . . prophecy. Prophecy not against another commandment is another way the word prophecy is used . It can be used to bring new prophecy like the reference in Joel .Used twice to emphasize a certain matter therefore adding to the old as a witness.

No. You are suggesting that Bible interpretation is arbitrary. That is not so. We are given sufficient evidence to determine what is a metaphor and what is not. And we are also required to take all Scripture into account. So let's focus on Revelation 11.

*The literal coming to earth of Elijah before the Day of the LORD was prophesied in Malachi. Only Moses and Elijah met with Christ at His transfiguration and spoke with Him of His exodus. The miracles in Rev 11:6 indicate the high probability that Moses and Elijah will be on earth during the reign of the Antichrist, and preach the Gospel to unconverted Jews as well as the whole world.

The fire which comes out of the mouths of the two witnesses will be literal. You must understand that nothing is fantasy where God is concerned. Since nothing is impossible with God, He can and will make it possible for literal fire to come out of their mouths. In addition, there is nothing in the context to lead reader to a figurative interpretation. Since these two witnesses are killed by the angel/beast who comes up from the Abyss and then they stand back up on their feet 3 1/2 days later, why is it so difficult to believe that God will provide them with the means of having fire coming out of their mouths to kill anyone who tries to kill them before their time of prophesy is up?
The correct way to read Revelation is that, if the plain literal sense makes good sense, then don't seek any other sense. Therefore, when read of a woman clothed with the sun, or a red dragon with seven heads and ten horns, we can see right away that these are symbolisms representing what is literal. In fact, we are given the meanings behind the symbols right in Revelation and in other scriptures. Therefore it is a matter of discerning what is to be interpreted literally or symbolically based on the context.
The whole chapter is a parable written with signified language.... not only inspired but defined according to the spiritual understanding. like the prescription given us in 2 Corinthians 4:18.. A valuable tool or rightly dividing the parables

I have not found a presciption as a interpretation tool that says "If the first sense makes common sense" don't dig for the pearls.
I try to follow instructions and prescriptions as tools needed to hear what the Bible teaches. .The signified introduction of the book of Revelation informs us what kind of tongue is used to interpret. . . called the hidden mana in chapter 2.
.And Jesus informs us without parables Christ spoke not. . to everyone hiding the level of understanding that reveals the gospel from those who will not buy the instructions . . . revealing it to the disciples to help them learn what it means to walk by faith in respect to the spiritual understanding. .

The bible normally displays more than one level of meaning or significance. It would appear the gospel is hid in them.
Like for instance the period of kings was used for a parable, filled with parabolic understanding for the time present. Or the time in Egypt a parable to represent the work of the gospel freeing men from bondage that they might find the sabbath rest of Christ . or the Exodus and use of manna in the dessert hiding the work of the gospel .
In the phrase.... how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures. It reflects on the gospel to unseen work of God.
