Peter compares the baptizing that we do in immersion in water that he says still saves, for he says it is part of a believers salvation. But he compares it to the flood in Noah's day, and says they were saved by water to.

He said as the waters of the flood saved noah and his family, Baptism is ALSO an antitype of that which saves us now.

But he warns you, it does not remove sin, it is ONLY the answer of a god conscious to god. He did that, Because God in his infinite wisdom knew people would try to make this baptism a salvation issue, yet we see, it did not help. because people are going to believe what they want, no matter what God says.

I personally believe one can accept Christ by believing in Him, turning from our sin, and confessing His name to others. In other words: believe, repent, confess. Then God commands that you then be baptized to show you have accepted him. I personally left the Church of Christ this year and now attend a Baptist Church. The reason being is that I read in the Bible in Ephesians 1:13, Ephesians 2:8, Rom. 5:1, Rom. 3:24, and there are many other verses that tell us that we are saved/justified through our faith in Jesus Christ. Read Acts 10:43 as well as Acts 2:38. You will see that in Acts 10:43, Peter never mentioned baptism when he was speaking to Cornelius about Jesus Christ. "To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins." As you can see it is clear that baptism is not essential for salvation. Anyone is welcome to comment/debate on this topic.

Again I would ask why Paul didn't baptize if its required for salvation? That's just not reasonable to say Paul was leaving people thinking they was saved by faith in the gospel when really they was not? Come on its time to use some basic common sense in your religious zeal

1) but Paul did baptize, even baptized some at Corinth 1 Cor 1:14,16

2) Paul was under the great commission as all disciples are to go and baptize. Did that great commission change or was it done away with from Mt 28:19,20 to 1 Cor 1? No.

3) Why would Paul use the necessity of 1) Christ's crucifixion and 2) being baptized in the name of Christ in order for anyone to be "of Christ" 1 Cor 1:12:13, if baptism is not necessary to be "of Christ"?

I will pose a few questions to you like I have done to others;


Did the Lord Jesus command baptism? ( Matthew 28:19, Mark 16:16 )

Did the Lord say that if you love Him you will keep His commandments? ( John 14:15,23 )

If you say yes to those two questions, which you should then you can also read how those who don't do what the Lord says are called disobedient servants, and the bible calls disobedience as a sin of unbelief. ( Hebrews 3 and 4 )
And we also know that those who live in unbelief do not have salvation.

Well if you believe that, then try to explain to me why Dconn constantly debates with me when I say one who believes in Jesus will be a hearer and a doer, and not just a hearer only.

That is what I keep saying is that Jesus clearly says a believer will be one who is a hearer and doer, and not just a hearer. A hearer only the bible says will fall, be beaten, appointed to the lake of fire, and their ruin will be great.
