True except if you make "having faith in Him" an evidence of salvation and not a condition you met for salvation, if a condition, its a work

Welcome to this particular discussion. Sense I have you handy, can you give me your interpretation of the two gates in Matt 7:13-14?

People believe what they want to believe and it could be that they believe that God chooses who will be saved and not saved without their choice because then it means they have a no pressure life, and do not have to strive to enter the kingdom and can hold on to sin and enjoy it for they believe they cannot fall.

This belief system causes a lot of hypocrites claiming Christianity.

The Bible says if a person thinks they stand take heed lest you fall because a person could get relaxed in their walk with God and not striving to be Christlike like they should.

And that what happens to some of the people that hang on to that belief system.

The Bible says some have a form of godliness but deny the power thereof which they deny the Spirit leading them because they want to enjoy sin and believe they have salvation even though they hold on to sin.

Which they are ever learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth which the Bible says turn away from these people for their hypocrisy is not in line with Christianity.

Which Jesus said the hypocrites will not be with Him, and not everyone that says Lord Lord will enter heaven for they were workers of iniquity.

The Bible states that God is not willing that any should perish but wants all people to come to the knowledge of the truth and be saved.

He is the Savior of all men.

The disciples were to preach the Gospel to all creatures.

The book of Revelation says the Spirit and bride say come and anybody that wants that salvation can have that salvation.

All have sinned and come short of the glory of God and if you sin in the least of the law you offend in all, and all sin is unrighteousness.

Peter said God is no respecter of persons, and what makes you to differ from another person, and there is no difference between the Jew and Gentile.

So what criteria would God be using to choose some to be saved and some not to be saved with out their choice.

God views all people as equal not favoring one over the other for salvation.

God choose us we did not chose Him.

No one comes to the Son unless the Father draws them.

Many are called but few are chosen.

When God calls a person according to their heart condition He will work in their lives to bring them to the truth and if they get to the door of truth the person has to choose to enter the door of truth because God's kingdom is love, not robotic love, but they would of not got to the door of truth unless God intervened in their life.

The Bible says that the saints are predestined to salvation but this does not mean God chooses who will be saved without their choice in the beginning but it means God already had the plan of salvation to give mankind in the beginning so it is the same as the saints having salvation in the beginning.

The Bible says that God calls things that have not happened yet as though they already happened for if it is a plan of God in the future it is the same as if it happened in the beginning for it will surely come to pass with no hindrance.

The Lamb was slain from the foundation of the world.

The prophets blood was shed from the foundation of the world.

But these were future events but were considered as happening in the beginning.

The saints being predestined to salvation means that God had the plan of salvation in the beginning so it is the same as if the saints had salvation in the beginning but this salvation is to whoever wants that salvation which the person would determine that in the future by their choice to choose the truth.

The Bible plainly states that God wants all people to be saved but many want to hold on to sin and believe they still have salvation.

We might sin after we are saved but we have to repent of the sin not wanting the sin and move forward in the Spirit.

The Bible says if we wilfully sin after having the knowledge of sin there is no more sacrifice for sin.

Which means if we hold on to sin then the blood of Christ cannot wash it away for God will not take a sin away from a person that holds on to sin.

That is what happens to some people in that belief system that God chooses them to salvation without their choice that they hold on to sin because they think they cannot fall and their hypocrisy does not do good for Christianity for people will say those hypocrites and many will not accept Christianity.

That is why the Bible says turn away from these people because their hypocrisy that they do not act Christlike is not good for Christianity.

The Bible says in a great house there are some to honor and dishonor but if the people that dishonor change their ways then they will be a vessel on to honor.

Belief and baptism is a product of having been born again, and they do save (deliver) you from many pitfalls here in this life on earth. but neither one of them is the cause of your eternal inheritance.
Yes you are explaining your version of salvation well

“Belief and baptism is a product of having been born again”
“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭16:15-16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

you have it backwards it’s not “ he that is already saved will believe and get baptized “ first you have to hear what he said and believe it

It’s preach the actual gospel to all people whoever hears and believes will act by that principle of faith like this they had to hear and not disagree in order to believe and act and receive

“Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?

Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins,

and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.

Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭2:37-41‬ ‭KJV‬‬

they heard about baptism for remission , they heard about receiving the spirit as a free gift and they believed and so they gladly acted in what God said and we’re saved that’s “saved by faith”

you need to ask like they asked “ “brethren what shall I do ?” but your convinced if you have do anything it’s not grace or faith it requires you to not believe Jesus though is the problem

Its a conundrum I tell ya

Your trying to take away the promise Jesus made and somehow inherit the same promise your eliminating without his words that promised it

“This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?”
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭3:2‬ ‭KJV‬‬

you can’t already have the answers of your going to hear the word of God you have to realize he’s right I’m wrong always to learn from Jesus

“But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report? So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭10:16-17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

There is no salvation without Christs living word in the gospel

When you carefully examine how Christ describes the people in this church, it is clear that they are merely professing Christians (and there are many churches today which would correspond). They do not have Christ within. Here is what we read: Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art [1] wretched, and [2] miserable, and [3] poor, and [4] blind, and [5] naked:

This describes an unregenerate person. Genuine believers are not naked, since they are clothed with the righteousness of Christ. They are not blind because they have the indwelling Holy Spirit. They are not poor because they have the riches of Christ. They are not miserable because they have the joy of the Lord. They are not wretched because they know that they have been saved from Hell.

It might be time to humble yourself. The larger part of God's chosen children have been blinded to the truth, by God, because they turned away from him, and began to worship idols, but the scriptures inform us that they did not lose their eternal inheritance.

When the regenerate are walking in faith, they are the sweets people ever, but when they are walking in the flesh, they can be the nastiest people.

You have yet, to give me a scripture that states that we have to invite Jesus into our hearts to be delivered eternally.
I see that you are making a big bone-of-contention out of the fact that the phrase "invite Jesus into our hearts" is not in the KJV Bible. From now on, I will use words like receive. call, believe, open, etc...

And as previously stated, the call goes out to all.

Why stop at one verse why not let in to ponder ?

And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved

. Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.

Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?

Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins,

and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation. Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls. ....praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.
Acts 2:21‭, ‬36‭-‬41‭, ‬47 KJV

These Jews in Acts when hearing Peter's sermon accusing them of crucifying Christ, were "PRICKED" in their heart.

Before the unregenerate person has been born again, his heart is made of stone that cannot be pricked to feel guilt, The born again Jews in Acts felt guilt, and ask Peter and the other apostles, What must we do?. They were told what to do, and were accepted into the church membership.

The "all men" is the all men that is under consideration, which are those that are in the cities of Crete where Paul left Titus to ordain elders in every city.

The sermons of Titus, teaching them that denying ungodliness, and worldly lusts, they should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world. as he was instructing them how they should conduct themselves as church members would bring about a salvation (deliverance) here in this world, if they follow his instructions.

Amen brother We all say a lot the same things differently because we come from different places roots and languages

i was born a hillbilly and used to speak quite differently then I said a lot of the same points but thewords were totally different.

now when I look back in memory lol no one would have understood the way I speak now back then it would have been foreign to the people I grew up with

God made us all and caused us to speak differently but be able to communicate the same message because people are all so different in what they and how they understand things we need to say it in different ways to reach everyone

the four gospels for instance three of them really focus on the same things and teachings but each witness is speaking it in thier own words but it’s the same message being given to the Hearer.

Whether the way mark says it

“Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, and saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭1:14-15‬ ‭

“From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭4:17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about. And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all.

And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet isaiah. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written, The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, Because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; He hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, And recovering of sight to the blind, To set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.

And he said unto them, I must preach the kingdom of God to other cities also: for therefore am I sent.
‭‭Luke‬ ‭4:14-15, 17-19, 21, 43‬ ‭KJV‬‬

All are true and all offer different ways to understand the apostle Matthew uses a lot of ot scripture like paul does . To support his own witness of the gospel and it’s from his perspective he was a scripture guy for sure and gets his poin

Even the apostle johns deep And personal and spiritual witness of the events offer witness but alot of things you don’t hear from the others regarding the king of the kingdom and who Jesus truly is.

We often are disagreeing with how someone speaks , rather than what they are saying

which is a shame

Yeah these people both Jew and gentile who rejected him at first ?

“Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do…
‭‭Luke‬ ‭23:34‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Unregerate this and unregenerate that , Unregenerate ? Is that also a newly deemed word by the authority of magical grace ? I only ask
Because I can’t find a definition for that term

Are gentiles better than any guilty “ Jews “ in your eyes ? if so , consider the same gospel sent to Israel to save them by grace through faith in chrirt the savior after was went to anyone in the world ( gentiles ) to believe with Israel and be saved because they originally rejected it

“And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed.

So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham. Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.”
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭3:8-9, 16, 27-29‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: but in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.

The word which God sent unto the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ: that word, I say, ye know, which was published throughout all Judæa, and began from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached;

how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him. And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they slew and hanged on a tree: him God raised up the third day, and shewed him openly; not to all the people, but unto witnesses chosen before of God, even to us, who did eat and drink with him after he rose from the dead. And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead. To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.

While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.

And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost. For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God.

( must be born of water and spirit )

Then answered Peter, Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, (

which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?

And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭10:34-48‬ ‭KJV‬‬

we’re all in the same boat

“Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.”
‭‭Ezekiel‬ ‭18:4‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, To see if there were any that did understand, And seek God. They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: There is none that doeth good, no, not one.”
‭‭Psalm‬ ‭14:2-3‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Now there’s salvation for anyone that believes in the son

“For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son: Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.”
‭‭John‬ ‭5:22, 24‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures, and said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:

and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

And ye are witnesses of these things.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭24:45-48‬ ‭KJV‬‬

definately jesus died and rose for our salvation, and definetely we have to hear his word and believe and actually take it seriously and keep it as we learn and become able we learn about right and wrong discernment from Jesus he’s always merciful to us but he’s always prompting us and teaching us always leading us away from sin and towards righteousness

“And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.”
“And Jesus answered and spake unto them again by parables, and said, The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son, and sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding: and they would not come.

Again, he sent forth other servants, saying, Tell them which are bidden, Behold, I have prepared my dinner: my oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come unto the marriage.

But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his farm, another to his merchandise: and the remnant took his servants, and entreated them spitefully, and slew them.

But when the king heard thereof, he was wroth: and he sent forth his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city.

Then saith he to his servants, The wedding is ready, but they which were bidden were not worthy. Go ye therefore into the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage.

So those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together all as many as they found, both bad and good: and the wedding was furnished with guests.”

The question is:
1. Does the Holy Spirit cause regeneration and belief?
2. Or does man choose to believe first which causes the Holy Spirit to enter and regenerate?

John 3:8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.

Regeneration is a Gift of God and is usually given at Baptism. Reference: "38 Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call.” (Acts 2:38-39)

(1) God has given us the Gift of Baptism. (2) At the Apostles' Preaching, the Holy Spirit moved their hearts to be contrite and to ask what they must do to be saved. (3) As Peter replied, they were to repent and be baptized. (4) When they did this, they would receive the Gift of the Holy Spirit. Salvation is a Gift because the Holy Spirit is a Gift. When we believe and are baptized, we are sealed with the Holy Spirit. If, after Baptism, we fall, we confess our sins, and are forgiven, as 1 Jn 1:9 says.

This is what the Early Church (including St. Augustine, quoted earlier) believed and it's called Baptismal Regeneration: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baptismal_regeneration

God Bless.

Is there a prerequisite to regeneration or does the Holy Spirit enter at His own will?

If possible, please keep your answer simple. Thanks.

Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.”

But the word of the Lord endureth for ever.

….And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.”
