from Romans 5 verse 10 / John 8 verses 31b-32 / Ephesians 5 verse 8
1 Thessalonians 5 verse 5 / Romans 6 verse 18 / John 8 verse 36 While we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to Him through the death of His Son. “If you continue in My word, you are truly My disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” You were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light. You are all sons of the light and sons of the day; we do not belong to the night or to the darkness. You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness. If the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.

That belief that you speak of is not a work of ours, it is the work of God - and is reserved for a people of His choosing!
He saves whosoever believes in the Lord Jesus Christ. Reserved for ALL of mankind.

We are not some double super secret special chosen. We trusted in Christ, just like everyone else.

Man comes into this world in opposition to the things of God. But, God always has a remnant which He calls His people, His Elect, His sheep, etc –
this only refers to the nation of Israel

which will be drawn to him by the Holy Spirit. All others will be lost to the pleasures of this world.
The non-elect people have the same opportunity to hear God's word, read the Bible – just as the Elect. However, they do not desire the things of God, their treasure is in the things of this world. They will be found without excuse! Why is this so?
The word of God always accomplishes what it is sent to do. It does not return to God void of the purpose for which it was sent!
The Elect receive it, believe it, trust it, and turn to God while to the non-elect – it goes in one ear and out the other. Either way it accomplishes the will of God.
God does not renew everyone! He only acts on behalf of His people! And, the truth is that all others will be lost because they will not turn to God without being renewed.
I was lost once. now I am found.. Many poeple were lost for year. and eventually came to faith.''

Since the gospel is hidden from the lost, wouldn't someone need to first be saved for it to no longer be hidden?

Dear Cameron>>> I am afraid I'm going to have to ask you to please stop making sense or you will confuse the free willers more than they already are...

For freedom Christ has set as free but the free willers fail to comprehend that.

Good for you! And, I never stated anything different....
My post only proclaimed that it is by God's grace alone and is only provided for some, not all.

3. natural branches

etc etc.

its not about the gentiles.. who are the unnatural branches. but where were grafted in because the natural branch were blinded in part.
So today, are you saying that gentiles are save by grace but Jews must keep the law?

No

Nor does it say it in Romans 11

It says Israel is blinded in part. But God has kept a remnant.

Who is the remnant, the saved jews who has received the truth gospel of Christ..

no one has been saved by the law in any age..

Just more Scriptures for them to deny! There are so many!!!

1 Corinthians 4 verse 7b; John 3 verse 27; Romans 9 verses 15-16 ~ What do you have that you did not receive? And if you did also receive it, why do you boast as not having received it? John replied, "A man can receive only that which is given him from heaven." "I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion." So then, it does not depend on man's desire or effort, but on God's mercy.
Indeed!

1. Romans 1:16 says the Gospel reveals that (s/e) is for “everyone who believes”, both Jew and Gentile.

2. Romans 1:17 describes s/e as “righteousness from God” that is by faith “from first to last” or from creation until the end.

3. Romans 2:4 teaches that God’s kindness or patience with sinners is meant to lead them toward repentance, which implies that sinners are able to repent because of God’s leading.

4. Romans 2:5 warns that those who do not repent but instead stubbornly resist God’s leading are storing up wrath against themselves for the day when God’s righteous judgment will be revealed, which implies that God enables sinners to repent–or not (cf. Deut. 30:19).

5. Romans 2:6 affirms what is called karma by saying that “God will give to each person according to what he has done”, which (in Gal. 6:7-9) is called reaping what a person sows.

6. Romans 2:7 speaks of the need for “persistence in doing good” and seeking glory, honor and immortality in order to receive s/e or eternal life, which echoes what Jesus commanded (in Matt. 7:7) and connects with the doctrine of perseverance (cf. Heb. 10:36 & Jam. 1:3-4).

7. Romans 2:11 teaches that “God does not show favoritism” (cf. Eph. 6:9, Col. 3:25, 1Pet. 1:17), which is how God judges people justly, so the fact that some sinners ignore God’s Gospel indicates that His will or leading is resistible because of MFW.

8. Romans 2:15 teaches that sinful souls have a conscience or awareness of “the requirements of the law”, which may be combined with Romans 1:20 to teach that God’s power and moral nature or will may be perceived via creation and conscience (called natural revelation), thus those unfamiliar with God’s Word in Scripture have no good reason for resisting divine leading and choosing atheism/evil.

9. Romans 3:20-21 states the law makes souls conscious of sin and that “the Law and Prophets testify” or prepare the way for the new revelation of righteousness from God apart from the Law, which takes up where Romans 1:17 left off.

10. Romans 3:22a says that “righteousness from God” or s/e comes through faith “in Jesus Christ” (cf. Eph. 2:8), a phrase Paul used eleven times in Ephesians 1:3-14 to indicate s/e.

11. Romans 3:22b says that God’s righteousness is given “to all who believe—there is no difference”” signifying that all sinners may believe or be s/e (cf. 1Tim. 2:3-4, John 3:16, Tit. 2:11), because there is no favoritism (#7).

12. Romans 3:23 teaches that “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”, meaning that no one can be good enough to earn salvation because of their own merit.

13. Romans 3:24 says sinners “are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus” (via faith per v.22, cf. 3:27-28); s/e is free because Christ paid the price/cost.

14. Romans 3:25a explains redemption as being “a sacrifice of atonement” for those who have faith in Christ’s work of dying in their place.

15. Romans 3:25b further explains that God demonstrated his just patience (#3) or forbearance in leaving unpunished those sins committed before the revealing of the Gospel (foreshadowed in Gen. 22:8 & 13), implying that sinners had/have the opportunity to believe and be s/e thereby demonstrating God’s justice/not showing favoritism (#11).

16. Romans 3:26 continues to emphasize divine justice by declaring it three ways (“justice…, just…, justifies”), which justness is synonymous with righteousness (2Thes. 1:5-6, Heb. 6:10).

17. Romans 4:1-25 presents Abraham as a Gentile who became the physical father of the Jews and the spiritual father of all who choose to have faith in God/Christ.

18. Romans 5:1 echoes Eph. 2:8 by describing s/e as justification through faith, Eph. 1:5 & 7 by using the phrase “through Jesus Christ”, and Eph. 2:14 by describing s/e as having peace with God.

Yes, to everyone:

1. Romans 1:16 says the Gospel reveals that (s/e) is for “everyone who believes”, both Jew and Gentile.

19. Romans 5:2 & 5 also echo Eph. 2:18 & 3:1 by describing s/e as having access to God’s grace via the Holy Spirit.

20. Romans 5:6-10 states that God’s love (cf. kindness in #3) for the ungodly, for sinners and for His enemies is demonstrated by Christ dying for their s/e or justification/reconciliation.

21. Romans 5:12-21 describes s/e in corporate terms, saying that–like the first man–all (many?) men also sinned and died, and God’s grace comes to all (many?) because of Jesus Christ.

22. Romans 6:1-14 describes s/e in terms of Christians being united with Christ’s death and resurrection, so they who are under grace should not allow sin to reign in their bodies but should instead serve God as instruments of righteousness.

23. Romans 6:15-23 describes s/e in terms of being slaves to whom one willingly obeys, whether to sin or to obedience of God’s teaching that leads to righteousness, which results in eternal life “in Christ Jesus our Lord” (cf. #10).

24. Romans 7:1-6 describes s/e in terms of a wife’s remarriage after the death of her husband, saying that Christians have been released from the dead letter of the law so that they may serve God in the new way of the Spirit.

25. In Romans 7:7-25 Paul describes s/e in terms of struggle between what a person’s conscience wants to do and what his sinful nature causes him to do until he is rescued by Christ.

26. In Romans 8:1-25 Paul describes the s/e struggle in terms of Christians–who are indwelt by the Spirit and freed from living in accordance with the sinful nature—as putting to death sinful deeds, because they are God’s children and co-heirs of Christ’s glorious resurrection.

[QUOTE="lrs68, post: 5521067, member: 337229] As a preacher looking out into those listening you can see who are truly being affected by what they're hearing and know that God is seriously working on them. As a human being we also know there's a multitude of reasons why we just sit there and refuse to react when deep inside we know God is calling us. So I simply give that option and many times those I can see and have been watching during my sermon they are relieved and quickly throw up that arm. And when I say come up to be prayed for they do and they break down before God and I am their Witness to them being Saved by God.[ /QUOTE]

You ae a witness to Them for being saved by God ? Does God need A Witness? What is spiritual salvation; and how is It really gotten?

I in My young years obtained A Degree to be a Pastor. My work turned out to be in The Plant in which I worked! I had a job that allowed Me to be all over The Plant. That turned out to be My preaching ground! I did that for about 28 yrs.

Now being dead spiritually to God, inactive, how can a person be free to do the good things like hearing the word of God, understanding it, faith in God, repentance toward God.
It has been explained to you in the pages of this thread that God is the One Who reaches out to the unbeliever.

God has made it clear that He utilizes the foolishness of preaching to save those who believe. Someone preached to you ... when that someone spoke to you, you did not suppress the truth in unrighteousness ... you heard ... you trusted ... you believed ... God gave increase.

The gospel is the power of God unto salvation to those who believe ... those who reject will not be saved and, in fact, continuous and ongoing rejection results in God giving them over to uncleanness (Rom 1:23) ... and as they continue in their foolishness, God further gives them over to vile affections (Rom 1:26) ... and as they continue in the pursuit of their lusts, God further gives them over to a reprobate mind (Rom 1:28).

God is very explicit in explaining what occurs:

Rom 1:16-17 – the gospel of Christ is the power of God unto salvation to those who believe. Those who do not believe (suppress the truth in unrighteousness) are described in vss 18-32.

Rom 1:18-32 – those who suppress the truth in unrighteousness shall incrementally be given over to their foolish devices until God finally lets them go.

You can deny the truth of what is written in Romans 1:16-32, but that does not change the truth of what is written in Romans 1:16-32.

@reneweddaybyday

It has been explained to you in the pages of this thread that God is the One Who reaches out to the unbeliever.
Thats false, the unbeliever, unless Just quickened, is dead. You dont reach out to dead folk. did Jesus merely reach out to the dead Lazarus ? Yeah God reaches out with power when at His powerful word raises up a dead person. Also That Romans 1:18ff is showing the activity of the dead in sin. It takes more than the natural creation of God to raise up spiritually dead sinners, dont you think God knows that.
