Not very familiar with it but from what i've read Dominionists believe that God desires Christians to rise to power through civil / political systems. To have primarily christians to run the government / Country. However as we know Satan rules this world and only Christ can / will change it
I have heard (and accepted) this all my life. But, then I sometime find myself wondering just how effective we believe Christ really was in defeating Satan, as the Bible says He was, if we claim that He is essentially powerless to do anything in the Earth, and has to wait until after we die.
I just get feeling that we might be letting Him down in pretty well failing at doing the one thing He told us to do.... and that was to establish and advance His kingdom on this Earth.

Well Satan is defeated and God has his reasons to allow him to go "to and fro on the earth" till this day. Satan will have his time then he will be casted in to the lake of fire. As revelation spoke of Satan coming down full of fury knowing he only have but a short time. As much as we might desire to we cannot bring heaven on earth. I can assure you we aren't letting him down he desires for us to lead as many people to him as possible. As the scriptures says God will create a new heaven and earth, this world will be judged and pass away.

It's pretty often that Willie posts something that has me running to Google to figure out what it means. I didn't even know this topic area existed.
It's quite prevelant. This is a quote from a book I am reading that talks a little about it.

Most likely, I am decades away from even needing to worry about finding answers to these kinds of topics. I like to read up on many things I see for the first time here at CC, but I don't understand them. I can't connect to them or see the need for debating them. I'm still trying to figure out what the differences are between the major sects of Protestantism and the "why" of the differences.
Still, I mean it when I say "thank you" for bringing these topics up. I have more to add to my list to look up and study.

From discussions i have had with people who believe in Dominionism it is a doctrine that believes that Christians need to establish the kingdom of God on earth before Jesus can return to rule it.. So dominionists believe in taking over and controlling worldly political power and enacting Christian laws and using state power to if nessecary wage war to establish the rule of Dominion in all parts of the world.. It seems to be the same thinking that ISIS islamists have in establishing the caliphate and taking over the world to enforce the kingdom of islam over the entire world..
Of course i do not believe in Dominion.. The Book of revelation makes it clear that when Jesus returns He will defeat the enemies of Christ and He will establish the Kingdom..
