[h=1]Who we should be proud of.[/h]
As a Christian, you should not behave like the World. You should not think like the world. You should not speak like the world. Don’t you know that even though you live in the world you are not part of the world? You are born of GOD.
I am speaking the truth in CHRIST, my conscience bears me witness in the HOLY SPIRIT, that I have great sorrow and unceasing anguish in my heart; whenever I hear people especially Christians saying things like:
“I’m proud of you or I’m proud of my friend or I’m proud of my sister or I’m proud of my child or I’m proud of my wife/husband or I’m proud of my parents or I’m proud of myself etc.” This saying is wrong and it shows how some of us are so ignorant of the word of GOD but ignorance of the word of GOD is not an excuse for doing wrong things.
Have you not read where it is written, “In all your ways acknowledge GOD.”
As Christians, we should never say such things because it is evil. How can we be proud of the created (man) instead to be proud of the Creator (GOD)? We have allowed the devil to fool us.
For example, when you say, “I’m proud of my child”; you are giving glory to your child and this is wrong. All glories belong to GOD and we should give HIM all glories. So, what you should say is this, “I’m proud of what the LORD is doing in the life of my child” or you may say, “I’m proud of the LORD for what HE is doing in the life of my child or I’m proud of what the LORD has done for my child.” This is what you should be saying and not the other way round. When you say so, you acknowledge GOD and you give HIM the glory and not your child. Your child can not do anything on his/her strength or intelligence nor can he/she make him/herself intelligent. If your child is strong or intelligent, his/her intelligence comes from GOD. So you should give GOD the glory who made your child to be strong or intelligent.
As Christians, we know clearly that we are living and doing all things by the grace of GOD and not by our power or might.
For it is written, “For by grace you have been saved through faith; and this is not your own doing, it is the gift of GOD – not because of works, lest any man should boast. For we are HIS workmanship, created in CHRIST JESUS for good works, which GOD prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them (Eph 2:8).”
So you can see that if it is by grace, it is no longer on the basis of works; otherwise grace would no longer be grace. Again it is written, “His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness....(2Peter 1:3).” Therefore my dear, be proud of GOD in all situations of your life and that of others.
So my dear, stop using such phrases like I’m proud of you or I’m proud of myself because this is wrong. No one should be proud of man or boast of man or proud or boast of him/herself or anything because he/she cannot create him/herself but, we should be proud of GOD and boast of GOD who created us in HIS own image and likeness, and made us beautiful, strong, intelligent, rich etc.
For it is written, “GOD is the source of your life in CHRIST JESUS, whom HE made our wisdom, our righteousness and sanctification and redemption; therefore, as it is written ‘Let him who boasts, boast of the LORD. (1 Corin 1:31.)’”
Listen carefully again to what the Word of GOD says, “Let no one boast of man. Let him who boasts, boast of the LORD.” This is also saying that let no one be proud of man. Let him who is proud, be proud of the LORD.
Now, you have seen that what you were saying in the past that I’m proud of you or I’m proud of myself was wrong. Anything contrary to the word of GOD is evil and that saying is evil because it is contrary to the word of GOD.
GOD is the source of your life and that of your children, friends and whosoever. So you should be proud of HIM and HIM alone.
My dear parents, sisters, brothers and friends; thus says the LORD, who created the heavens and stretched them out , who spread forth the earth and what comes from it, who gives breath to the people upon it and spirit to those who walk in it: “I am the LORD, I have called you in righteousness, I have taken you by the hand and kept you; for I am the LORD that is my name; my glory I give to no other, nor my praise to graven images”.
GOD does not give his glory or praise or worship to anybody or graven images. So, when you say, “I’m proud of my child or I’m proud of myself”; you are given the glory of GOD to your child or yourself. Remember, GOD does not share or give HIS glory to anybody. All glories belong to HIM and HE created us for HIS Glory.
Have you not read in the Bible where Herod who beheaded John the Baptist, failed to give GOD the glory when he took his seat upon the throne, and make an oration to the people. And immediately an angel of the LORD smote him, because he did not give GOD the glory; and he was eaten by worms and died.
Again, have you not read in the Bible where Moses and Aaron also failed to give GOD the glory in the eyes of the people of Israel when GOD commanded them to tell the rock before the eyes of the people to yield its water. Because they failed to give GOD the glory, GOD said to them, “You shall not bring this assemble into the land which I have given them.” After this, Moses prayed and asked GOD to let him go over and see the good land which the LORD will give to the children of Israel but the LORD was angry with Moses and HE didn’t hearken to him, and the LORD said to Moses, “Let it suffice you; speak no more to Me of this matter.”
My dear, GOD is Gracious and Merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. This does not means that we should take HIS mercy and love for granted and provoke HIM as some of us today are doing. Giving the glory of GOD to others is provoking HIM. Institutionalizing evil is provoking HIM. Worshiping idols is provoking HIM etc.
GOD loves you and remember never to give glory to the created or man but give all glory to GOD who created all things. For from HIM and through HIM and to HIM are all things. To HIM be glory for ever. Amen!
I’m so proud of the LORD GOD for giving us HIS word which is life. For HE created us for HIS glory and we must bring glory to HIS Name.
The word of GOD is GOD and it is the only Truth in life. So live according to the Truth.
