I didn't know about a collective of people saying things about bible idolatry. I'm witnessing from my own walk.
My heart started to slide, and I in fact did start to hug and cradle my physical Bible like it was my baby, making every effort to touch it with only physically clean hands, straining myself to only handle it as if it were a hallowed thing that would cause death to me if I let harm come to it.
But God reminded me that it's most important that I keep the word sacred in my heart and soul, so that I can still serve Him wehere I can't have His book. I Just thought I'd bring it out to you all.
Now I understand what u r saying 😁 u made yourself much clearer with this post 👍 . Yes , what u said about clean hands and hugging it , yes , I get u now . I do not sleep well if I haven't read my Bible on that day , so I always make sure I read it every day . I don't have a great memory like some people who r able to memorize verses , so it's important for me to be fed every day . I love to read novels also but , if I could only read one book for the rest of my life it would b my Bible . It makes me feel closer to God . The Bible feels alive and very real to me and also , much nicer than this physical world in which I live . It literally is my rock , my comfort and my strength because it is God's letter to me . He wrote it for me , to bring me closer to Him and I want to hear His Words every day . I NEED to hear Him every day or I get anxious , full of worldly fears that only drag me away from Him . Not reading it becomes a viscous circle to me . I need the Bible .

But....
I refuse to write in my Bible
OR
Put a tattoo on my wife.

YMMV

You know the Holy Bible is not just word, but power.
Pure, overflowing, incomprhensible power. It's the railway everything runs on. Before you knew what it said, it was true.
Gods word is translated into many languages. If in so many languages, what is engish compared to it all? From across ancient and extinct languages, there was a meaning to it all. Before everybody could have their own book, there was a way the Law was kept. There is a spirit of a Higher language mediating between it all.

Hosea 11:8—
“How can I give you up, Ephraim?
How can I hand you over, Israel?
How can I make you like Admah?
How can I make you like Zeboiim?
My heart is turned within me,
my compassion is aroused.
I will not execute the fierceness of my anger.
I will not return to destroy Ephraim,
for I am God, and not man—the Holy One among you.
I will not come in wrath.
They will walk after the LORD,
who will roar like a lion;
for he will roar, and the children will come trembling from the west.
They will come trembling like a bird out of Egypt,
and like a dove out of the land of Assyria;
and I will settle them in their houses,” says the LORD.

Any book containing the word of God, is still just a book made of bound paper as much as any other book.
It's merely a vessel containing Gods word, not Gods word in itself.

God has showed me that Himself, by showing me He doesn't mind if I destroy my particular book I physically have with me. It's just a copy of something I can always buy again, that I can always find again.
I was making the book into a sort of idol, and God helped me

It would be great if people would just read it instead of making foolish threads like this one .

It's also better that people refrain their talk, before they boast like they know what another's secrets are.

Are you sure that it was God that told you, your Bible could be destroyed? Perhaps it was another spirit!
The Bible can be destroyed. Its paper and leather are as vulnerable to destruction as the temples in Jerusalem are.
But Abraham kept the Law of the Lord before Moses ever wrote about it,
Elijah performed wonderful works without carrying any scriptures around,
The prophets had to speak their word in faith before God confirmed it,
The psalms had to be conceived by people before they were written,
David had to fall from his Root before Salvation could be his offspring,
And the apostles didn't spend their lives endlessly studying their own letters, but they simply are the people they're writing about for good.

The Bible was made to tell us these things, and that God never changes, so that we might keep them in our hearts to perform them as we are ourselves.

And,the Bible has changed over the years. Many versions exist of God's words.

Yes,wise advice. Don't make a graven image of anything upon the earth or in the skies, would have to include the book.

God,is The Word.

the Bible has changed over the years.
The Bible hasn't changed, apart from the explicitly apostate versions. The many ways it's written in english and other languages are still faithfully based on the oldest manuscripts known for the most part.

I'm sure. Do you not know that a believer has the "Living Bible" within? Lord Jesus is the Word of God. That the written word is not enough on its own is obvious. SDA and and Sabbatarians prove that continually. You read the same Bible as others and come up with obviously false doctrines.
