Even if true it is not fair to clump all or many ministers this way because just as many are not his way if not more. The bible teaches us that we have wheat and tare growing together but that God will do the seperating not us. It also teaches if we find one at fault what we should do. And the last thing we should do is write about if we haven't talked to them about it that seems hypocritical that one would point out these things yet do nothing scriptural about if. If so I stand corrected. If not I stand by my word.

I was not lumping. I like Dr. Stanley very much. I was speaking only of those that do that. I do not think that we need to agree on all things to be brothers and sisters in Christ. If that we true, most of us would stand alone because there is probably something that you see differently than everyone else, one topic or another. We are sons of God through Jesus Christ and not through agreement on all topics.

After instructing Paul as he was commissioned to do, Ananias encouraged him to do what the Lord commanded him to do; he was encouraged to do this immediately, he should not tarry or delay. He is now given more definite instruction as to what he should do. Paul was commanded to arise, and "be baptized."

MsLimpet It sure would do you a bit of good to be reminded of scripture when the Lord used a donkey to relay a word! Not that Dr. Stanley is a donkey or even close that is not the point the point being he sure is a good teacher and God uses him to rely his word effectivlely beyond denomination just as he did that donkey!

He may be considered a good "teacher" but does that make him a correct teacher, true to the bible or just tickle your ears.

There are false teachers out in the world trying to tickle the ears of men. And in 2 Timothy 4:1-4. Paul warned Timothy that there would be individuals who have “itching ears”. They want somebody to tell them what they want to hear.

You're just wanting somebody to tell you not what you need to hear, but just what you want to hear. And people have take ten subject of grace, and they have twisted it to their own destruction, 2 Peter 3:16-18. Some people teach that grace is the only thing that you need and that there is nothing you have to do whatsoever, but that you're just automatically going to be saved because of God's grace. Now, that's false doctrine. And it may feel good, but it's not what the Bible says.

I would defend you or any other minister the same way we deserve that much respect. It's hard enough waging war with the enemy but to have our own taer us down or opinion us to death is appauling what do you hope to gain by point out any flaws? that we are flawed? Your opinion is just that. I would have said several well know men of God say things that are not biblically accurate in my opinion and we need to pray that God reveals to them error if in fact it exist. But hey Thats me. You may feel comfortable calling out preachers by name but again what is the purpose to reveal flaws or prove your point?

I reread my post and do not feel that Dr. Stanley was lumped into the generalization. However I have not looked into his personal life so I guess he could be. I hope not because I really enjoy his sermons and it would be disappointing to find out that he is a fraud. Again, I hope not.

I respect your post I kinda look at it like would i want a camera crew follwoing me around all day in my face and in my business seeing my flaws and exposing them to the world as I know they would be. Or would I perfer a brother or sister for that matter call me off to the side a point out their concerns. And i don't mind being rebuked or chastened by my leadership if need be but not trashed in a post I'm just saying there is a better way in my opinion.

Everyone seems to be an expert on Dr. Stanley and his teachings that they find so false. Could it be he is referencing carnal Christians who are not mature who never grow up into the things of God? I mean could he be saying that each man even if saved has to be willing to learn and grow? The fact is some do some don't, that is not our call that's a God thing.A carnal Christian is still a Christian or am I missing something. My point is if it were you that someone was sayin was a false teacher how would you feel as a Christian. We are supposed to handle it another way if we feel that is the case. I point out these things as I do with my congregation it is important for us to look at us too! Just a few thoughts.

I listen to Dr. Stanley on the radio and I have never understood him to say that you can live...in willful sin. He has said many times that a child of God does not do that.
