SO do you chunk Romans and what is said about being justified by faith apart from works and that works are evidence of faith?
Try reading it the way it is meant,"justified by faith apart from the Jewish Law"

Abraham, and David, and we are justified the same, the problem you have is you think you can just sit there and obtain righteousness, when the bible says we, like Abraham and David, were justified by obedience, they showed their faith by obedience resulting in righteousness.
Try reading it the way it is meant,"justified by faith apart from the Jewish Law"
yes, it is a separation from God, Obeying the Gospel (including baptism) reconciles you with God, God will not obey the Gospel for you.No,
Under yours you will never be able to be saved, Because your trying to pay your certificate of death of by your works. Which were never a requirement to be paid.
The penalty of sin is death. Not doing all these works.
No place in the OT or new did God say the penalty of sin is to be baptized. So when you are baptized, your certificate of debt is paid in full, and you are released or acquitted of this debt.
It says the penalty is death, Thus ONLY death can pay the certificate.
Trying to pay your debt by being good and being baptized is like trying to pay your bak loan off with monopoly money, Your works are useless (or as God calls them, As filthy rags)
You have a choice which death, Yours or Christs??
No. We would have to change the word of God, and add to it.
Maybe your ok twisting and adding to the word. But some of us take God for what he says.
No. It says the opposite.
As shown, Abraham was saved before he did one work.
David declares in that same passage, blessed is the man to whome God will not impute sin.
Their works were a result of faith and salvation not the other way around, this would make salvation depend on us, And make the death of CHrist insufficient, or to be honest, null and void and not needed.
yes, it is a separation from God, Obeying the Gospel (including baptism) reconciles you with God, God will not obey the Gospel for you.
in regard to your ignorant comparison to "filthy rags" Isaiah 64:6, maybe you should back up and look at Isaiah 64:5
God will accept and bless those who "worketh righteousness"
No place in the bible is baptism called a penalty, it is a part of what is required to reconcile your self with God, nobody, not even God can or will do that for you.
So why do you suppose he equates their works, prophesy and casting out of demons to lawlessness?
and the end result of their desire to enter heaven is...........I NEVER KNEW YOU WHICH GOES TO THE ROOT OF THEIR??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
So then if God does all the work, it is his fault if someone is lost, good salvation plan you have there.
If you read it in context you would see it is the Jewish Law Paul refers to, but you cannot because it destroys your man made doctrine.
he already did,Jabberjaw said:yes, it is a separation from God, Obeying the Gospel (including baptism) reconciles you with God, God will not obey the Gospel for you.
He said it is finished, he did not say I did my part. now you do yours.
he will accept and bless only those who work those out of faith.
not like you, in self righteousness (in order to make gain for yourself)
right,Jabberjaw said:No place in the bible is baptism called a penalty, it is a part of what is required to reconcile your self with God, nobody, not even God can or will do that for you.
then it is not a part of the payment,
youjust proved me right, thank you, it will NOT MAKE YOU CLEAN, as it WILL NOT PAY YOUR DEBT!
No. thats your mr twisty stuff.
I already proved it by showing what it means to boast. and how you can boast of yoru works outside the law. But you do not want to see this (you did not even respond to it) (thought i missed that did you? its ok. I know why you did not respond to it.
Take pride and boast in your baptism in water.
I will give my basting to where it is due, to God who baptised me
you're saying God obeyed the Gospel for you?
He said He was finished, he didn't say "I saved you, now go throughout the whole world and do nothing"
He said "who does righteousness" that is a work. "do" implies work.
There is no payment, baptism is not a payment it is a command that is given by Christ to remit sins, you must obey this command as well as the others, to be obedient, to be righteous.
maybe in a few hundred more posts you get it.
If you can completely keep the law of Moses as Christ did, then you do not need Christ, and you can boast.
Yes, what do you think he did on the cross? He took the certificate of death against me, and paid it in full..Jabberjaw said:you're saying God obeyed the Gospel for you?
Or I can be as the pharisees and boast of being a jew, Boast of getting circumcised. Boast of not being a gentile. Boast of not being a sinner, Boast of being baptized. Etc Etc Etc.
Stop trying to force only the works of the law into boasting, Abraham never was given the law. Thus he could not be held accountable to it.
Enough said, you have your own gospel.
The only problem I have with him is his belief that you just have to call on the Lord and you will be saved. That is false teaching.
MsLimpet.... I just started reading your post. You start by saying you reallyMsLimpet said:The only problem I have with him is his belief that you just have to call on the Lord and you will be saved. That is false teaching.
received a good Word from his preaching, right ?
Are you kidding about not liking him saying we have to accept Jesus Christ
to be saved ? Surely you do not believe he is false teacher regarding salvation.
"No man can see the Father without receiving Christ as Savior."
John 3:16..... FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD HE GAVE HIS OWN BEGOTTEN
SON, AND WHOSOEVER BELIEVETH ON HIM SHALL HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE.
I did not read all the replies so if I misunderstand you I apologize. If I
did read you right, gosh.... that blew me out of the ball park. I was not
expecting that comment.
