God claims that one of the ways he can speak and connect to us, is through dreams and visions. I believe dreams are one of the possible ways to connect directly with the Spirit of God.

I have had many dreams I believe to be connected to spiritual experiences.

I am curious to hear of other people’s experiences. Are there any dreams or visions u wish to share via a comment on this post? What did you pray to gain a vision or dream from God? What do you think increases the likelihood of you connecting to God through dreams and visions?
What did u see in your dreams and visions? Eg. Souls, Heaven, Hell, Judgement day, Angels , Fallen Angels (Demons), Jesus. Etc. How did these dreams make you feel? Did they make you deconstruct or think differently /more openly about interpreting different aspects of the Bible?

What is your opinion on receiving dreams from God? How else do you feel God communicates to you?

No offence intended towards you, but I think the majority of folks who have visions are Master Herbalists....... :)

Hi Carissa, Yes i have had many dreams that i believe where from God and not from my own mind.. I have never had a vision so i cannot speak to that area.. The real important connection for us is the indwelling of the Holy Spirit who is with us every day.. I see dreams as a great bonus.. Not to be expected but to be valued when one is blessed by them..

I have seen the future in my dreams, personal future and major event..
I have been given knowledge of sins i have done that i did not realize they where as bad as they actually where leading me to acknowledge them and thank the LORD Jesus for His atonement for them..
I have had teaching dreams where symbols have given meaning that caused me to understand truths..
I had most of my dreams when i was new to the Faith.. I needed them to teach me, to help me grow from being a babe in Christ to where i am now, and No i am not claiming to have reached some high level of knowledge / wisdom.. But thanks be to God i am in a better position now then when i first believed..

As for other ways God does prick my conscience from time to time,, not the most enjoyable experience.. But of great value never the less..

God has also spoken to me through other Christians who have shared knowledge of The Gospel to expand my understanding..

I became a believer through a vision I had of Jesus and events that followed. I have had quite vivid dreams that have revealed truths to me. I think of God-led dreams as kind of like praying in tongues, where the Holy Spirit prays and we can ask for imterpretation, but in dreams God uses pictures as well words.

I’ve had too many important dreams in my life but God has showed me two major miracles while I wasn’t dreaming.

One was related to an icon which was releasing oil, which is a miracle onto itself.
I was lucky to be anointed with this oil which smelled like roses. Three months later, in response to my prayer I smelt this smell again and my prayer was answered.

The other one was related to an angel I saw in a church. It was faceless, had wings but with a human shape and it was very bright.
It was a quiet Wednesday afternoon and my wife and I went there to pray quietly with just us in the church.
My wife was present too and she saw it, so this helped “comfort” me that I wasn’t crazy.
My prayer was again answered.
Dreams and Miracles are always personal unless God wants them large miracles for His glory so it wouldn’t have been important if my wife didn’t see it but I’m glad she saw it. We both cried afterwards.

Glory to God for all things.

Joh 20:27 Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing.
Joh 20:28 And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.
Joh 20:29 Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.

Some people say they have seen Jesus but then it would violate faith.

Which faith is the evidence of things not seen.

You posted no scripture of your claim. He gave Paul special revelation for the Gentile body of Christ, but we cannot claim that for ourselves. We have what we need in scripture to live for the Lord.

Adstar, please tell us what you have seen for the future, did you get confirmation we are in the end times? I did get this, I was shown we are at the beginning of Jacob's trouble, that was about 5 years ago, things will progress rapidly from now on. Jesus is on his way....

Blessings.

Acts 2 "Your old men will dream dreams and your young men will see visions."

If I presumed that God must only work with others in the same ways He has worked with me, that would seem to be a creature trying to dictate to God how He must interact with every human being.

Acts 2 is concerning the Jews. They required signs to believe. We walk by faith. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. We have the completed, perfect, pure word of God.

Scripture does not say that only the Jews desire a sign; or that only the Greek seek for wisdom. Nor that all Jews seek for signs and all Greeks seek wisdom. Paul is escribing general priorities not absolute generalised characteristics .of ethnic classes.

In my youth, I had a vision of myself preaching behind a pulpit.
Now that I'm older, I have dreams.
That proves the truth I didn't want to accept - I'm old!

We walk by faith, not by sight. That is a literal statement of fact.

The account of people dreaming dreams, having visions etc.. was mostly fulfilled in Acts 2 with the prophecy of Joel.

(Act 2:14) But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words:
(Act 2:15) For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day.
(Act 2:16) But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;
(Act 2:17) And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:
(Act 2:18) And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:
(Act 2:19) And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke:
(Act 2:20) The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come:
(Act 2:21) And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Last days: started back then

It isn't a future forecasting.. it's a fulfillment of an OT prophecy.. mostly fulfilled right then and there.

It may have been completely fulfilled, but I am not sure about acts 2:19-20

Well, that's true, whether one gets signs or not. One may not believe a given sign is from God. In the gospels, many doubted that the signs given by God were from God. If you are reading into your citation that signs are no longer given, because under the gospel we need to walk by faith, you are reading way too much into those words.

I did say "majority." (just saying) Given the plethora of folks through the years since Jesus ascended to His Throne who have come along with "dreams and visions" that they believe would change the world forever, and given that none that I know of have actually done so, well, yeah, Master Herbalist is a kind way of speaking of them IMO.

As for Bruce. Well, I do not think he is a complete stranger to Herbs which can cause dreams and visions, right? :)

The one I really love is that guy from California who continues to come up with the exact date of the return of Jesus, and every time he is wrong, he just "recalibrates" his interpretation of Scripture and comes up with another date. Ever wonder how many sincere people that guy has fooled?

1 John 4:1 - Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

(just saying)
