My story is a little crazy. I havent been here in a while. Things have been good since the last time i signed in until just recently. I tend to only blog when im in a bad mood. Guess u can say its how i vent.
well its my sons bday on the 17th and for the past two months ive been stressing so much trying to organize his party. i was gonna make his party at my moms but my sister started giving me all this crap about how i have to buy alcohol for my guest (btw my family is not christian) and i said im not going to buy alcohol for anyone. everyone is free to make their own choices so if they wanna bring their drinks thats on them but im not going to be responsible for anyone drinking and driving. in the end i decided i would do it in a park. its august and its san diego so the weather is AMAZING! plus theres no drinking allowed.

well as if things werent stressing enough my cousin was drinking and driving last friday and crashed. she was with 3 other people. one person came out without a scratch another girl had to get surgery for idk what the other guy died and my cousin had a lot of brain damage. shes not in a coma but she hasnt woken since the accident. if we talk to her she responds with movement so she is fully aware but just doesnt open her eyes. she also has a breathing tube witch tomorrow shes getting surgery their gonna put the tube through her neck so its not in her mouth. the doctors say her brain is really brused up. they put screws on her arm because her bone shattered. its so hard for all of my family. HARDER for the family of the guy who died so i decided to cancel my babys first birthday party. its sad because i mean unless ur a mom u have no idea what a year of watching ur child learn grow and be healthy accually means to a mommy. hes my first and ive been looking foward to this since he was born! dont get me wrong. i pray all day everyday for my cousin and i know my son will have more birthdays. i want her to come out ok. she has kids of her own!
MORAL TO THIS BLOG: Stupid decisions that u dont care to make because "its ur life and u live it however u want" truly truly truly affects EVERYBODY. please pray for my cousin and think twice people....

I know its a very sad time for you and your family, and I am sorry for what happened and pray that the girl recovers fully. I just wanted to suggest that you postpone your baby's first birthday instead of canceling it altogether. Maybe a month later would be appropriate. I just think that you should'nt miss celebrating his 1st birthday. I think your family will understand. They will probably welcome the chance to smile again. God bless.

Wow... this story breaks my heart. I cannot imagine what you and your family are going through. Know you all are being lifted up in prayer!!

Drunk driving is a mistake made by people of all ages that can have devastating consequences. All we can do is teach our young people the right ways and choices, and hope they will follow through when the time comes to make their own decisions.

I'm sorry to hear what has happened, I will pray for God to move in His mighty power for everyone involved. I would do a small cake for your som on his B-day and a party later on, Zeroturbulence is right. Just remember this is your son's celebration, it is your choice of what people partake in at the party. He is only 1yr old and if you don't want drinking there, that's a good thing. I think this accident just proves your point! Use it to make your point.
Tell them that you don't want his birthday tied to something like this. God Bless

I'm really sorry for what happened. Drunk driving really is stupid.

But I also want to say that drinking is not prohibited in the Bible, actually it is encourged. (1 Tim 5:23) In Titus 2:3 it says don't be given to much wine. It doesn't say you can't have wine. I wouldn't say you're family isn't Christian because they drink. Maybe not Christian because they don't follow Christ, but not because they drink.

If your convictions tells you not to drink, that's ok. That's good. But you shouldn't enforce it on others. And you shouldn't make your family feel like they are heathen because they have a glass of wine now and again. Getting drunk is definatly condemned in the Bible. But one little glass of wine? No.

I will keep those involved in the accident in my prayers.

Hi

I am truly sorry to hear of this sad incident. At the same time, I am glad that you shared what has happened, so that we can offer our prayers of healing to those involved.

Whatever decision you are going to take (to have or not have the party), it's going to a tough one. There's really no right or wrong. And there's also going to be a lot of people telling you what you should do.

You can do one thing first though: Go to the Lord in Prayer TOGETHER WITH YOUR WIFE. Ask Him for guidance and direction. Try to find a mutual decision with her and stick to it. This is what I had done previously with my wife when it comes to tricky decision.

And one more thing: I salute you (and respect you greatly!) with the decision to keep alcohol out of your party!

God bless you & your family!
