May the gifts be not forgotten, denied as if not begotten. There are those that need hope, they are but a step from the rope. Those that are burdened with sorrow, but the Lord promises joy so hold dear unto tomorrow. Those that are sick, the prayer of the righteous will avail quick. Oh that the Body would see what is within, the Spirit that has made Christ risen. There is power to be had, power to uplift those that are sad, mad, and anything but glad. VVhen will we see that the Lord equips those that are His? Did not Jesus do miracles and set the captives free, was that not His biz? If we are to emulate that which He has done, shall we not render ourselves extensions of the Son?
So then, what of the gifts of the Spirit? Do you hear it? Edify! They have not ceased, oh that believers would step out and let their giftings be released. Are they but a sign to be forgotten in the past? No, they are a sign today that the Lord cares with an everlasting love, so vast. People speak of Cessation, toss out the gifts by some religious concept of elimination. Yet the body of Christ still lives, and desperately needs edification.
Stop. Think. Do you see the nine? You must make it up in your mind that those are tools of mine. Not of greed, but to heal those wounded, those that bleed. Brothers and sisters in Christ in need of encouragement, exhortation, and revelation. These gifts the Lord gives as a mission. Do not doubt, He has He equipped you and entrusted them to you as a steward. Operate in them and you'll see a reward. To see those broken, hopeless, and desperate restored. It is quite a joy to edify. This is no lie. You are equipped to edify.
