But look who wrote them. Was it God who wrote the ten commandments or Moses?
Moses wrote them in a book.
But look who wrote them. Was it God who wrote the ten commandments or Moses?
Did God write those 600 on stone tablets and require for them to be carried around in a fancy box wherever the isrialites went? That would be heavy!
I believe that there was only the ten commandments written on the two stone tablets and the rest were given by God to Moses verbally. Regarding the "fancy box" that is, the ark of the covenant, yes it was a little heavy, as it was overlaid with gold and and had two Cherubim of pure gold on the cover, which was the mercy seat. But that is why there were four gold rings, two on each side, and gold cover poles that remained in those rings so that the ark could be carried every time God had Israel break camp. Inside the ark were the two tablets of stone with the ten commandments written on them, Aaron's staff that had budded and a jar of manna.
So why were the ten commandments set apart in a fancy box if they were just part of the law of moses?

The Bible says God SPOKE both the 10 commandments and the rest of the laws.
1) where?
2) Why were the ten commandments set apart?
Also the ten commandments were inside the ark of the covenant correct?
I believe it is the first verse of Chapter 20 of Exodus, and then in the first verse of Chapter 21...... (maybe 22)
1 Kings 8:9 says that inside the Ark of the Covenant there was only the two stone tablets of Moses. But Hebrews 9:3-4 mentions three things, the gold jar of manna, Aaron’s staff that had budded, and the stone tablets of the covenant.
That tells me nothing about why the ten commandments were set apart...you sure you got the right verses?
But the ten commandments were deffinitly in there, correct?

For one, I would think that you would have to have a whole lot of stone tablets to fit all of the food laws, the feast laws, the holy day laws, the purification laws, etc., etc. You would need several arks of the covenant to contain all of those. The rest were written on parchment, but the stone tablets represented the Law. In answer to your original question, the ten commandments, along with the other 600 laws given, all belong to the laws that God gave to Moses to give to the Israelites, also called, the "Law of Moses" or "the Mosaic law."
The 10 Commandments are taught and upheld all throughout the New Testament as well. They were not given to just Israel.
Yes. That Old Covenant stuff was in there. And, interestingly enough, it was all hidden (never to be seen again, as far as I know) under The Mercy Seat.
So then are you referring to Revelation 11:19? Because why weren't the rest of the 600 commands found in Revelation? Why just the ark of the covenant which held the ten commandments?
