I have one sign that Jesus says signifies the end.
"[SUP]14 [/SUP]And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come." Matt 24:14
I think all the doomsayers need to go out to the nations and tribes that have never heard the gospel, and start preaching it if they really want the end to come.
We are not even close to proclaiming the gospel to the whole world. And that was the mission Jesus gave all believers in Matt 28:18-20.
"And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. [SUP]19 [/SUP]Go therefore andmake disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,[SUP]20 [/SUP]teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matt 28:18-20
That's why I support missionaries and follow the persecuted church. That gives me a real idea if the end time is near!

Personally I think the great apostasy that comes before the Tribulation will be caused by a great economic boom, the likes the earth has never seen before. Something like an unending energy source being found.
Fewer people attend church during good times. After 9/11 our church was packed.
I think the depraved mind of man can get much worse. As our societies become more socialist where the government is god and christianity becomes politically incorrect, mankind will seek other ''truths''.
We wanted a king ( 1 Samuel 8:10-20 ) and rejected the King. History will repeat itself.

I run a blog that one could say would cover end-time watching. It's on emerging risks - Black Swans. If something is going to blow us up, then I try to cover it. I post prophecy articles from time to time, but mostly I just cover news.
I am regularly - as in several times a week - picking up articles about the possibility of conflict with China. I'm talking about war. The situation in the East China Sea is looking real bad. I am picking up articles threatening war in the Middle East involving Israel. Russia has made quite a few threats of nuclear attack concerning western interference in the Middle East.
There's a lot more, but that gives you an idea the US is in pretty serious trouble right now.
