I've had enough of the personals ads on the singles forum. This site wasn't designed to be a Christian E-Harmony. Sure sometimes by chance two chatters talk for a good amount of time and fall inlove....but don't go throwing it out there in a forum. There are plenty Christian dating sites out there. Use the singles forum for advice, to complain, and to keep eachother's chins up. Don't use it to promote the fact that u are single, looking, and hope that some mate will come along and reply...and then you'll run off and get hitched. Thanks.

I guess I could say I have had enough of people using the chat room as a social club, rather than a place to edify and build each other up.
 
Sorry you feel that people are not being uplifted and encouraging each other.. You there are times of fun, but I have been encouaed and uplifted in chat many times.. And I have seen others being uplifted as well.. There has been many times I have gone in and have felt the power of God so strong and had my spirts likfted because of what someone else has said, or maybe a song that has been sung.. I also believe God expects us to have fun at times as well..
 
O I agree, but I think if one has an issue with one thing they should have an issue with all. You shouldn't pick and choose by what suits your fancy.
 
this is a Christian CHAT ROOM. Chat room refers to a place to come and chat....chatting is a social thing. We build eachother up everyday. But we also use this to be social. We can't have both?

Yeah I agree i don't think it should be about finding someone right....
I only use this for advice i wouldn't wanna date someone i met on the internet though.
 
I'm sooooo glad u use it for advice!! There are alot of people full of good ideas and wisdom here! i just don't like the personal ads at all :-/

yeah for sure i like asking questions and getting good answers back i was asking about girls asking guys out and i got some really good responses. I really like it when people use the bible to back up what they say as well.

I find relationships very interesting so as a single i like to hear others stories but this wasn't made to find your husband or wife or whatever. But anyways yes i have been a little bothered by the dating thing on here

well i for myself am not here for dating, but i dont see anything wrong with people letting us know they are singles lol.
some people find it annoying, some, funny.. lol (although i admit, sometimes i find it hilarious), but they aren't breaking any rules.. and well, they're just letting us know something about themselves. whats not good is if they force us to talk to them .. this and that, or worse, if they stalk us. lol! haha
if they consider their limitations and do whats right, and respect everyone's principles on here, well then, everything's gonna be cool.

We've had quite a few lately actually. You're just not usually in the room when they happen.
 
Since when is "chatting" NOT uplifting?? It can be that just a normal chat session IS lifting someone..lifting their spirits for the day....etc. As for discussions about God...I've seen some recently. I've also participated in prayer for a few people lately, and have been lifted myself!! by doing so. The thing I don't enjoy at all, is all the "discussions" on what is "wrong" to read, watch, or practice..... we all fall short, but we should be more "lifting" by way of not coming across as "holier than thou" God Bless everyone..I am not a debater so this will prob be my only post on here!! hahaa
 
Referring to Baptist and subsequent responses. I feel in my own life, that just merely being in the presence of like-minded/spirited people who love and seek God IS uplifting in itself. Socializing with people that I can so freely and simply give all glory to God about even the little things is a blessing and I do not take this place or people for granted. As it was previously stated... this is, after all, a chat room. I see Christ and his word is a constant topic in these rooms... from everything from simple praise and encouragement to theoretical discussions... so I guess I'm inclined to wonder what kind of standard you hoping to find.

Good on ya Christianrkchk for having the guts to say what everyone else was thinkin.
 
It doesn't bother me if the person says in some random post..."I'm single." But it DOES bother me that they say, "I'm single, this age, this area of the world, and message me if ur interested in getting hitched."

Why must you change the subject? This is about people putting up personal's ads...not about whether or whether not we have Biblical discussions in chat. And yes, like Still_Waters said...they happen quite often in Bible study and prayer...even in lounge at times! You just are no where to be seen....so i'm not sure u can input this argument.
