The "ministering" word is diakonia in the Greek. Here is the same word in several places:

"But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me."

Here Martha is doing the ministering.

Here, in Acts 1, the diakonia is distinct from apostleship.

"That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place."

In 1 Corinthians 12 we're provided examples of diakonia given to "all men".

"And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. 6 And there are diversities of operations (diakonia), but it is the same God which worketh all in all. 7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. 8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; 9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; 10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: 11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will."

Paul lists wisdom, word of knowledge, faith, healing, miracles, prophesy, and discerning. None of these are the doma gifts of leadership (apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor, and teacher).

My point: leadership builds up the saints for the saints' ministries.... not the other way around. A father does not consume his children (like Cronus of Greek mythology). A father builds up his children so that they will be equipped for the purposes of God: their callings and ministries.

Also, if you look close at the Strongs, you'll see the Greek word eleemosynary. That is the word associated with the giving of alms, money.

I think your using my point against me.

There are those doing the perfecting , and those being perfected. Thats my claim.

Today we have potential saints being perfected by everything but gifted ministers , themselves, AI. And because of that the service part, the ministry of the saints is non existent.
But it sounds like you may be one of the exceptions.

Ah, I see.

Some people like to preserve the priest/laity dynamic adopted by the Roman church from Jewish antiquity and polytheism. I am staunchly against that dichotomy.

If you are saying few members of the Body have someone watching over their souls in the role of a spiritual father I agree. Many have a "me and Jesus" mentality not found in scripture.

I came up through Catholicism from first to 9th grade. I had a desire to serve the lord way back then. I would do anything to be the altar boy to serve the mass. All positive!

In 1987 I went to that same church begging for help with substance abuse. The priest told me to go to AA. So I did , and a bonfire protestant was born.

My point is, those 9 years of practicing Catholicism was just part of my path, and served an important purpose when I needed it. I thank God for that priest, his advice started something you wouldn't believe.

I wouldn't change a thing.

One time, a drunk guy helped me change a tire. The tire fit perfectly and my car ran as designed.

The perfect example of faith!
An act, based upon a belief, sustained by confidence.

Even drunks fulfill acts of faith all day long.

Not to worry, you got AI to unconfuse you.
AI can read and understand the simple text in the N.T.

AI can also clarify the context which guards against error riddled interpretations.

Here is a good example of how the context in Romans nullifies what many think this following verse is saying.

Romans 3:31
Do we then nullify the Law through faith? Far from it! On the contrary, we establish the Law.

Is Paul saying that we are all under the law?

When the context is taken into account the verse above (Romans 3:31) is stating the obvious.

Take it away AI.

Romans 3:31 does not establish the Mosaic Law as a system for earning righteousness, because the immediate context
of Romans 3 explicitly states that justification comes apart from the law through faith in Christ. Paul means that faith
upholds the law's true purpose by acknowledging its perfection, recognizing humanity's failure, and pointing to Jesus
as the one who fulfilled its penalty. [1, 2, 3, 4]

Context of Romans 3
    • Justification apart from works: Paul spends the preceding verses (3:20–28) arguing that "no flesh will be justified in His sight by the deeds of the law," because the law only brings the knowledge of sin. [1]
    • The principle of faith: He contrasts boasting in works with the "law of faith," stating that a person is justified by faith without keeping ritual or moral commandments as a payment mechanism (3:27–28).
    • The role of Christ: God put forward Jesus as a propitiation, demonstrating His righteousness so that He is both just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus (3:25–26).

How Faith "Establishes" the Law
    • Honoring the verdict: By turning to grace, a believer agrees with the law's strict standard and high cost rather than pretending human effort can satisfy it. [1]
    • Fulfillment in Christ: Jesus met the absolute righteous requirements and paid the penalty demanded by the law, meaning faith validates the law's penalty rather than ignoring it. [1, 2]
    • Testamentary witness: Earlier in Romans, Paul notes that the law and the prophets themselves bear witness to this righteousness by faith, meaning the Old Testament scriptures anticipated grace all along.

OK Aaron i admit saying that is kind of petty. But we all know most of us either don't have a gifted instructor, are perfecting ourselves, or have replaced our potential gifted teachers with AI.

This is a huge problem, and I just wanted to seal the exits .

Speak for yourself, which, I imagine you are. (snaps suspenders)

No, which is why I said that perhaps this secret is like eating meat dedicated to idols (1Cor. 8:1-8);
it is okay for some who have the mind of Christ to enjoy music but not for you.
Again, it is likely Jesus enjoyed singing psalms, and Paul did not forbid good music.

You baffled me G.
You compare eating meat dedicated to idols, with having the mind of Christ?

Here is another way of saying mind of Christ. " a conscious contact with Him". Now think about that for a second, and let it sink in. To be consciously connected to Christ 24/7. You seem perfectly ok with interrupting that connection with something like music, after we both acknowledged music or songs can get stuck in our heads for days.

Think a little more about this. What certainty do you have when that music that gets stuck in your head wears off, that the connection returns like before. Don't you think for someone in that state, there might be a little fear of loosing the most precious thing a human being can experience while on earth. To have a conscious contact with our creator.

G , have I been overestimating you for the past 6 months? What say you?

Basic Christianity: look past the flawed vessel, discern and test what they say.

That would be the OP

You cannot look past the 'vessel' and discern. It's a package deal.

Basic Christianity would be the gospel. Foundational. If people do not have a grasp on all Christ has done for us, we end up with baby birds waiting to be fed.

As it is, I disagree with your understanding on how the gifts function. You appear to have given yourself the OT title of watchman which is interesting.

Admittedly, the gifts we recieve as the result of a continually surrendered life are not something i spend alot of time on. I understand if im surrendering my life to Him, what happens to that surrendered life is out of my hands and not really any of my business anymore .

I keep it simple, understanding faith and faithing correctly is mandatory to discuss anything beyond that. If someone doesn't understand faith and faithing, how could they be fulfilling it every day, positioning themselves correctly to be filled with His spirit, making Christ, His spirit, His word, and the promises in His word theirs to claim.

I'm talking about the spiritual gifts given by God through the Holy Spirit for the edification and building up of the body (believers)

Are you a fatalist of some kind? What do you mean the surrendering of your life is out of your hands You, according to scripture, are or should be an active participant in your relationship with Christ. It is every bit your business unless you are a jellyfish dependant on the currents. Let us hope not.

Faithing? That's not a word :) I dunno. Perhaps tell me how you do all of that while remaining a passive observer to your own life?

Perhaps I misunderstand. It starts to sound a little existential imo.

I think it would be more beneficial for you to do what I suggested at the start. Look past the vessel, and focus on the topic. The topic is faith and faithing, pistis and pisteuo.

If you need to inspect me to see if im worthy to bring this evidence to you, I'll save you some time, I'm not.

OK well you do not want to address my concerns regarding your interpretations but I should take your advice. I discern I should not do that. :)
Ehp. 4 : 11-12,

In this passage we are told that there are two types of Christians, gifted ministers who are responsible for perfecting saints, and saints being perfected by those gifted ministers.

I" de like to see those gifted ministers announce themselves, and the saints being perfected to do the same.

I'll go first. I'm 100% a saint positioning himself to be perfected by the only gifted minister ive known in 38 years.

Go!

If I need to 'inspect' you? This is not a church. I will leave the inspection of your person to whatever body of believers you fellowship with...if you do. You have some strange notions IMO. whatever

I am a saint who is still being taught by gifted teachers and apostles. I am also a teacher by occupation and by gifting who is actively discipling and teaching and training others. This is my life calling.
