Something to consider, the people in the following account professed and believed in Jesus, yet heard the words, "I never knew you."

Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity." Matt. 7:21-23

Yes indeedy do. You should consider those words while you, like a false prophet, expound on the oneness pentacostalism false gospel. It's worth noting that an individual who does not understand that the right shoe goes on the right foot and the left shoe goes on the left foot, has become your sidekick. I'm sharing what is recorded in the Word. So you decide.

The Word itself states that truth is established by 2-3 witnesses, This means the details given in 2-3 scriptures about a given topic reveal what is true:

But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established. Matt. 18:16

This is the third time I am coming to you. In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established.2 Cor. 13:1
Are you/scripture saying that you do not have the holy ghost if you do not speak in tounges? (and by proxy is one not saved ?

no it doesnt. this is about a testimony given in court against someone.

But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established. Matt. 18:16
this is not referring to tongues either
This is the third time I am coming to you. In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established.2 Cor. 13:1
this is not referring to tongues.

The phenomenon of speaking in tongues appears primarily in three New Testament sections: the Book of Acts, and chapters 12 through 14 of First Corinthians.

1. The Event of Pentecost (Acts 2)
The very first record of tongues is on the Day of Pentecost, when the apostles were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues (languages):

Acts 2:4 — "And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them."
Here, the “tongues” were actual human languages spoken so that the diverse crowd of Jews from different nations could hear the gospel in their own native languages (Acts 2:6-11). This was a miraculous sign meant to authenticate the apostles’ message and confirm God’s presence in the birth of the Church.

The tongues in Acts 2 were not gibberish, ecstatic utterances, or unknown “angelic” languages; they were real, recognizable human dialects to communicate truth.

2. Paul’s Teaching on Tongues (1 Corinthians 12-14)
The Apostle Paul addresses tongues extensively in his letters to the Corinthian church, where the gift had become misused and misunderstood. His key points include:

Tongues are one of many spiritual gifts. Paul lists tongues alongside prophecy, healing, wisdom, knowledge, and others (1 Cor 12:10, 28).

Tongues primarily serve to edify the individual speaker if used privately.

“Anyone who speaks in a tongue edifies themselves…” (1 Cor 14:4)
In corporate worship, tongues must be interpreted or cease.

“If anyone speaks in a tongue, two—or at the most three—should speak, one at a time, and someone must interpret.” (1 Cor 14:27)Without interpretation, tongues create confusion, which God forbids (1 Cor 14:33).
Prophecy is preferred over tongues for church edification.

“I would rather speak five intelligible words to instruct others than ten thousand words in a tongue.” (1 Cor 14:19)
Tongues are not a sign for believers but for unbelievers.

“Tongues, then, are a sign, not for believers but for unbelievers…” (1 Cor 14:22)This refers to the miraculous use of tongues as real foreign languages, like at Pentecost.
Paul’s detailed teaching makes it clear that tongues were never meant to be a chaotic, emotional, unintelligible experience in the public assembly without interpretation.

Common Fallacies Behind Modern Speaking in Tongues

1. The “Heavenly” or “Angel” Language Myth
Many modern tongues are claimed to be heavenly languages or angelic speech beyond human understanding. This idea has no biblical foundation. The tongues in Acts 2 were actual languages of earth, not mystical, gibberish speech.

Paul mentions the possibility of “tongues of angels” (1 Cor 13:1) but never instructs believers to speak this way or uses it as a norm or test of spirituality. The Corinthians’ experience with tongues was actual languages or unknown human languages, not angelic babbling.

2. Speaking Tongues as a Mandatory Proof of Spirit Baptism
Many Charismatic and Pentecostal churches teach that speaking in tongues is a sign of baptism in the Holy Spirit or even necessary for salvation. The Bible nowhere supports this doctrine. Numerous believers in the New Testament received the Spirit without speaking in tongues (Acts 10:44-48; Acts 19:1-7).

This teaching pressures believers to produce tongues, often leading to counterfeit manifestations.

3. Private Edification Misapplied as Public Worship
Paul states that tongues can edify the individual but insists that public worship be orderly and understandable (1 Cor 14:4-5, 26-28). Modern practices often glorify loud, repetitive, unintelligible tongues in public services with no interpretation, violating biblical instructions.

4. Emotionalism and Peer Pressure
Many who speak in tongues today do so because of strong emotional experiences, desire for acceptance, or group pressure rather than genuine divine gifting. Glossolalia is well-documented in psychological studies as a learned behavior or an altered state of consciousness without supernatural origin.

5. Lack of Interpretation
Biblical tongues require interpretation in public settings to edify the church (1 Cor 14:27-28). Modern churches often tolerate or promote uninterpreted tongues, causing confusion and disorder contrary to Scripture.

he Spiritual Danger of Accepting False Tongues
Deception by False Spirits1 John 4:1 commands believers to test the spirits. False tongues can be demonic or counterfeit spiritual manifestations aimed at deceiving and dividing the church.

Distracts from True Gospel and RepentanceAn overemphasis on tongues can mislead believers into focusing on emotional experiences rather than genuine faith, repentance, obedience, and the fruit of the Spirit.

Creates Spiritual ElitismClaiming tongues as proof of superior spirituality fosters pride, division, and false assurance.

You aren’t mad at me your mad because I showed you what Paul wrote to the church in his epistles

“But because of your stubbornness and your unrepentant heart, you are storing up wrath against yourself for the day of God’s wrath, when his righteous judgment will be revealed. God “will repay each person according to what they have done.”

To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life.

But for those who are self-seeking and who reject the truth and follow evil, there will be wrath and anger. (
it’s ridiculous for you to pretend you can’t understand what he’s saying ) There will be trouble and distress for every human being who does evil: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile;

but glory, honor and peace for everyone who does good: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. For God does not show favoritism.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭2:5-11‬ ‭NIV‬‬

your response “ your icky because you keep posting scripture in a bi ke discussion forum and I don’t like what Paul said ! Humph! Grumpy! Humph !”

This is a waste of my time and your also even though you don’t recognize it

again yhour response is meaningless in the context of the topic. refute this below and we can continue.

1) The Imperishable Crown – (1 Corinthians 9:24-25) “Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it. And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate [disciplined] in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown” (NKJV). All things on this earth are subject to decay and will perish. Jesus urges us to not store our treasures on earth “where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal” (Matthew 6:19). This is analogous to what Paul was saying about that wreath of leaves that was soon to turn brittle and fall apart. But not so the heavenly crown; faithful endurance wins a heavenly reward which is “an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you” (1 Peter 1:4).

2) The Crown of Rejoicing – (1 Thessalonians 2:19) “For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Is it not even you in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at His coming?” The apostle Paul tells us in Philippians 4:4 to “rejoice always in the Lord” for all the bountiful blessings our gracious God has showered upon us. As Christians we have more in this life to rejoice about than anyone else. Luke tells us there is rejoicing even now in heaven (Luke 15:7). The crown of rejoicing will be our reward where “God will wipe away every tear . . . there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away” (Revelation 21:4).

3) The Crown of Righteousness – (2 Timothy 4:8) “Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.” We inherit this crown through the righteousness of Christ which is what gives us a right to it, and without which it cannot be obtained. Because it is obtained and possessed in a righteous way, and not by force and deceit as earthly crowns sometimes are, it is an everlasting crown, promised to all who love the Lord and eagerly wait for His return. Through our enduring discouragements, persecutions, sufferings, or even death, we know assuredly our reward is with Christ in eternity (Philippians 3:20). This crown is not for those who depend upon their own sense of righteousness or of their own works. Such an attitude breeds only arrogance and pride, not a longing, a fervent desire to be with the Lord.

4) The Crown of Glory – (1 Peter 5:4) “And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that does not fade away.” Though Peter is addressing the elders, we must also remember that the crown will be awarded to all those who long for or love His appearing. This word “glory” is an interesting word referring to the very nature of God and His actions. It entails His great splendor and brightness. Recall Stephen who, while being stoned to death, was able to look into the heavens and see the glory of God (Acts 7:55-56). This word also means that the praise and honor we bestow to God alone is due Him because of who He is (Isaiah 42:8, 48:11; Galatians 1:5). It also recognizes that believers are incredibly blessed to enter into the kingdom, into the very likeness of Christ Himself. For as Paul so eloquently put it, “For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us” (Romans 8:18 NKJV).

5) The Crown of Life – (Revelation 2:10) “Do not fear any of those things which you are about to suffer. Indeed, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and you will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.” This crown is for all believers, but is especially dear to those who endure sufferings, who bravely confront persecution for Jesus, even to the point of death. In Scripture the word “life” is often used to show a relationship that is right with God. It was Jesus who said, “I have come that they may have life and that they may have it more abundantly” (John 10:10). Just as things such as air, food, and water are vital for our physical lives, Jesus provides us what is required for our spiritual lives. He is the One who provides “living water.” He is the “bread of life” (John 4:10, 6:35). We know that our earthly lives will end. But we have the amazing promise that comes only to those who come to God through Jesus: “And this is the promise that He has promised us—eternal life” (1 John 2:25).

the vast majority of "Christians" will not like nor accept what Christ is saying here.

Paraphrase: you folks that are doing all these nice works in My Name, using My authority, you, yourselves are not obeying what I have commanded you to do.

Christ stated, if you love me, you will demonstrate that love, your love by obeying MY 10 Commandments

15 If ye love me, keep my commandments. Thus; the way I want you to love me is by obeying MY commandments

10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.

The only way to demonstrate Love of Christ is by obeying all 10 Commandments--- the 10 are how love is expressed to God and man

love is not an emotion it is an action.

Again, as I said believing God's Word is the answer. It's not about any denomination.

Consider the following:
Upon arriving to pickup some used pews a discussion ensued. The sellers said they were "Bapticostals." Well that certainly peaked interest. They shared their experience. The group of men decided to come together and pray to strengthen their walk with Jesus. As they sincerely cried out in prayer, to their amazement, the entire group was filled with the Holy Ghost and began to speak in tongues. Not one or two in the group, but 100%. They were shocked. They were excited to share the good news with their church.

Well, Sunday came and the men proudly stood before the congregation and relayed their experience. "We were all filled with the Holy Ghost and spoke in tongues just like those on the Day of Pentecost. We could hardly believe it! There is no doubt what happened to us was from God." They waited but no one said a word. It was then that the pastor ushered them to the door and told them they were no longer welcome.

The testimony is a perfect example of church tradition hindering the purposes of God. Pride is a terrible thing!

Notice Jesus goes on to explain the necessity of laying a foundation immediately after stating that He never knew them. Clearly, they had no foundation.

Luke's account indicates a foundation must be laid upon the rock. (Luke 6:48) Jesus, the rock, is the cornerstone. And Hebrews 6:1-2 details what the foundation consists of and it lines up with what Peter said everyone must do. (Acts 2:4-42)

You are right back at trying to make things happen like on the day of Pentecost. Go rent a room in a 2 story hotel and wait.

The Word of God is what was shared not any specific denomination belief. Everyone has freewill to accept or reject what's revealed.

False. You do not adhere to scripture. Your belief is based on Oneness Pentecostal doctrine. Trying to be sneaky about what you really believe does not look good on you.

Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith .
The thief on the cross had no works but was saved , he did believe in Jesus called him Lord . Jesus said today thou shalt be with me in paradise.

I do believe in works , but they follow conversion. God knows our hearts better than we can . So therefore he justifies by his sole discretion or will . Not ours . The best thing we can do is seek his mercy and forgiveness. I think this is what the thief on the cross did . And Jesus was merciful to him! Praise God !!

I would add I do believe in works , if it’s works of repentance or obedience, God knows our hearts and we seek to please him not our own ways of works . The works would line up with Gods will revealed in his word , not our way of doing things . Like for example thou shall not steal . So I would stop all forms of stealing in my life and pursue that always . God knows if I’m serious or just giving lip service. My works would also reveal that . It’s God that justifies not our works he knows our hearts . Our works in themselves can do nothing by themselves . It’s God that justifies he looks on a the heart . He appreciates good works from the heart. Men tend to look on appearance and judge that way . God looks on our hearts and works .

So the thief did not have to repent or be baptized?

Plus Christ only said the thief would be with Him in the garden of God which is the 2nd resurrection See Rev 20; 5

If this were true it is counter to the entirety of the WORD of God

this is death bed salvation -- and the only example in the Word (but not true) --- all those called of God suffer for their entire life time see Hebrews 11
and this man just says "remember me"?

The Father is going to give this fellow eternal life for saying "remember me"?? sorry that makes everything taught in the Word foolishness.

The Process of Salvation is a life time -- a life time of overcoming trials and testing to see if we will obey and endure until the end?

Please show us how or what this fellow has endured until the end? One minute and you are good to go?

I will not even go to what Christ said to the "Christians" in Matthew 7: 21 -23

Sorry that has been a long time false teaching by the 45,000 churches

That reminds me of the story Jesus told about the first shall be last and the last shall be first . Do you recall it ? They complained that they worked so long and this guy you reward and they have done nothing yet ! Your argument seems to ring a bell . God is amazing! He truly does love all . And can meet them anywhere. Especially when they need him most . A few thoughts! God bless you in your pursuit!

the gift of eternal life is the same for all

the reward, positions of authority in the family, are according to works, the parable of the pound!

Some like Steven die young, but he had works. He had demonstrated to the Father he will obey and obey to the death.

there are no death bed conversions.
