I have a friend in the US that uses essential oils for many issues. I know she has a daughter with Autism that she uses the oils on with great success in behavior management and digestion and skin issues, and she uses them for migraines and weightloss and colds/flu for her self and family as well.

Essential oils are anything but essential to health and well-being, and there's no evidence to suggest that using them is effective in treating or preventing any disease. They're a bygone relic of an outmoded form of medicine.

I'd be skeptical of your friend's claims, OP. People are naturally gullible.

I respect your opinion, but I have seen how they have helped her and her daughter. There are many medical doctors, and psycologists etc, that are starting to incorporate holistic practices such as essential oils into there medical practices, for the very reason that they have seen them work on there patients. I agree Hizikyah, God has made many wonderful plants, foods and minerals that are very beneficial to our healthy lives. To many processed, chemically filled toxic foods are available and eaten today. It is no wonder there is so much sickness.

Amen! As a believers we HAVE to check stuff before we start using. The fact that something help somebody ,it's not the proof , that it's safe to use for people who believe in God. I know many times my grandma( who was self proclaimed witch ) "helped" people.

Tea tree oil is a natural anti-septic.

Is it perfect? No.

It may not have the strength of modern anti-biotics, but it also does not have the possibly extreme side effects. But it rather enhances the immune system.

remember un-informed posters can post here too.

even 'plain' historians know that autism doesn't happen in populations that aren't injected with mercury. the rare exception is from other exposure.

they know the relationship between poison in.......cted and sids deaths also.

Well...maybe for some people they don't work. But they do for me. They ease anxiety, depression, sleeplessness, colds, sick tummy...I use them for a lot of things. Sorry if they don't work for others. I am a strong believer in them.

Peppermint oil for headaches: apply on temples and back of the neck broadly, pain instanteneously relieved.
Peppermint and eucalyptus oil to unstuck the runny nose: apply on forehead, above the nose root.
They can improve mood (lemon, orange), calm down (lavender), disinfect your home, kill mites.
I use essential oils for two balms. One removes eye infections in one day or so, applied externally (simply tea tree oil dilluted in virgin coconut oil as a carrier, several drops of TTO per spoon of VCO), the other one is for cuts and wounds (a more complicated recipy with lavender oil, small cuts disappear in a day or two).
Herbs are such a gift from God. It is really crazy that someone would call people witches for using something God provided for us? No I'm supposed to use "pharmakia" that is okay because it comes in pill shape and it is manmade it is kosher I guess?

Soulweaver,

the stigma attached to 'essential-oils' will always be in the back-ground of people's minds
because essential oils are used in both worlds, 'demonic and righteous' -
and this should be acknowledged.

my husband and I appreciate your vast knowledge of 'oils', there's nothing like a
'peppermint oil bath', it is so invigorating the way it stimulates the whole body, it's
just wonderful,

we are definitely advocates of many 'natural oils and herbs' and have been experimenting
with them for many, many years and have discovered several of our own recipes
by trial and error that work miracles and are amazing.

many years ago we discovered an 'herbal-plaster' recipe in the book -
BACK TO EDEN, and actually drew out a rooted cancer, needless to say
the experience was awesome.

we have discovered though that many people are averse to 'natural medicine'
and would much rather put their 'trust' in 'traditional-medicine', even with
first-hand proof - we both understand this mind-set, for we were once
also caught-up in the power of pharmikia.

thank you for sharing

the "essential" oils that are sold commercially in MOST CASES contain so little of the element that is supposed to help that one can barely find traces of it in there at all ....

If using them helps you, use them, but don't waste money on it hoping it "will start working some time",
and please don't use it to "treat" serious illness unless advised by a DOCTOR / PHARMACIST

oldthenew,
thank you for sharing too, that was really an amazing testimony. I had no idea that cancer really could be cured using essential oils! I dont know that much really - I know just of their basic properties and most common oils like peppermint or tea tree, but I love learning. You reminded me now... I've been running recently into mentions that certain terpenes in essential oils have favorable effects on DNA repair.

Essential Oils and Their Constituents as Anticancer Agents: A Mechanistic View
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/17980946

You are right that both the "good side" and the "bad side" uses herbs, because God showers goodness upon both the just and unjust. How filled with grace is He, to provide healing - not just for us, but even to those that hate Him? God would not give something healing properties, and then want us to not use it, while giving Him thanks. If pagans do, we dont worship created things. This is not an earthly tree and there is rich spiritual meaning in this, too, but it shows us that herbs used for healing are after the pattern of Heaven, not hell:

Revelation 22:2 In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, [was there] the tree of life, which bare twelve [manner of] fruits, [and] yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree [were] for the healing of the nations.

everyone is talking about the health benefits of essential oils but nobody mentioned another thing that makes them useful...

essential oils are also excellent for homemade perfumes and cleaning solutions...and i even have an insect repellent made from essential oils...
