Press Association. I wonder if people who publicly extricate themselves from the faith realize they're fulfilling prophecy revealed in the faith?

Also,I don't post these news articles expecting participation. I learned awhile ago ,if certain spirits here cannot take a topic into conflict, the topic is ignored.

Ignoring the topic is much preferred to that alternative.
I post articles so those of a mind to be informed, are so. Once they know what's going on,they can keep it to themselves and avoid the conflict feeders.

Another wrote that Evangelical values shape how they live out their faith but that the word itself is not necessary. A fourth urged members to trust the board they elected and cited limits on available names and website addresses as a factor.
I don't think there's any unrighteousness in what they're doing. You would need to know what evangelical means to be effected by the change first of all, which you can be an evangelical without knowing.
If it's called 'Christian Press Association', random people would know it had the Name of Christ in it faster than being called Evangelical Press Association instead.

That being said, how would a discussion about this go, anyway?
"Hey they shouldn't do that!"
"No, you're wrong, actually..."

BIG IDEOLOGICAL THEOLOGICAL POST WITH GREEK AND HEBREW ROOTS OF WORDS TEARDOWN

Well, the conflict feeders arrived sooner than expected.
And didn't even bother to read the article.

How do you do that? And look so foolish.

From the article. The name change proposed is,Christian Communicators Network.

From the article:
In a series of comments, one participant argued that dropping the term could reinforce the perception that "Evangelical" is a political label. The participant wrote that organizations making such a shift often face pressure to accommodate groups that do not share historic Evangelical convictions on biblical authority, marriage and sexuality, and announced plans to vote against the resolution in hope of sending the board "back to the drawing board."

‘Our theology remains Evangelical’

They just don't want the Evangelical label that firewarns this?

"Board members said "Evangelical" increasingly carries political and cultural meanings that can obscure its theological sense, while "Christian" is understood worldwide." "

Voting remains open till one day in October.

What comes next?
An organization wants to alter the identity of,Christian? Due to negative intolerant connotations?
Jesus believers? A reversion to, The People of The Way?

Maybe all of them are just wrong, and nobody should care.

I believe anyone Truly pursuaded to be Christian will be led to read the Bible and receive the Holy spirit of Truth, beleive on the Cross and blood of Jesus Christ to wash away sins and Repent of their worldly desires to be resurrected to eternal life.
I doubt a random name change for some service only a few people hear about wil inhibit that in any way.

Unless God's grace intervenes, a person cannot understand the things of God

From the article:

Board members said the recommendation followed a yearlong process that included prayer, a Vision Casting Retreat, comparative research on how the field has changed and feedback from members. They described the proposal as rooted in mission rather than marketing.

Now do I really have to explain when they literally decided this all after going on what they call a "Vision Casting Retreat." I mean like seriously.....
