It can't be done can it? I mean your belief Is your belief. You can't suddenly try to believe in Santa Clause for a year cos you know it ain't true.

A Christian can't be an atheist for 12 months because the Christian believes it's 100 percent true. You ain't going to live as an atheist might because you know you'll be upsetting the god you believe in.

This is crazy lol

Not if the Christian is spiritually dead and has never known God or Christ and has simply gone through the motions of the rituals and pretence
 
Only God knows. If you listen to the video they go into this. If you know God is real then how can you deny God. If he wants to play at being an atheist, he has to deny God, even in my dark days of backsliding and rebellion when I ignored God and stuck my fingers in my ears and went LA LA LA LA im not listening God .. LA LA LA, I still did not deny God, I knew God and Jesus was real.
 
I like Ray Comfort. I've never seen this show...it's a bit crazy, huh?
 
This guy is treading on some very thin ice. How does he even know that he is going to live for twelve more months.

You are implying that this pastor can lose his salvation because he wants to "live like an atheist" for a year. His personal beliefs about God probably won't change therefore is his salvation a matter of his behavior? Is not all sin forgiven?
 
That's quite odd.
Yes I understand it as a philosophical experiment, but is it necessary?
You really only need to ask theists and atheists questions to get both sides, so why 'give up' what you believe for some silly matter?

And you really can't un-believe what you already believe if you're steadfast in it. We don't work that way.

A better approach would be to go through the arguments against you own believe, and challenge them to remain faithful to your beliefs, instead of completely de-constructing them down to nothing.

Its all to do with relationship on a spiritual level. People can say "I beleive in God and Jesus", but it they do not know God personally as in having that 2 way relationship, then its meaningless and counts for nothing.

People who say they have rejected God and converted to whatever obviously did not know God personally. There are many people who say they are Christians, they act like Christians, have jobs in clergy etc ,but they are not Christians to God.

But as I said before, I have no idea what his standing with God is, no one does, people do silly things in rebellion, if he genuinely knows God and accepted Christ, then its crazy behaviour to live as an athiest in denying God. If he is spiritually dead and has no relationship to start with, then that would explain a lot.
 
what about the bit in the bible about denying God? .... seems like a bad idea to me
 
If he was/is a christian then he has the Holy Spirit in him.
I wonder what the Holy Spirit thinks about playing the role of an atheist?
 
Be not deceived whatsoever a man soweth of that shall he reap. God is not mocked. I would ask is this man mocking God and His Christ?

I see no virtue in what he proposes.
