HEBREWS 5. 8-9 [Greek Literal translation]
Though He were a Son, yet He learned "obedience" from the things He
suffered, and by completing everything He became the Source [Author] of
[eternal] salvation to all those obeying [and submitting to] Him.
On earth, we are in a spiritual battle, but God asks us to submit to Him. When
Jesus takes away our burdens, and lifts off Satan's yoke, He asks us to put on His
yoke----it is easy (in Greek, that means we submit to our Teacher-Master, and that we
have everything (power-dunamis, authority-exousia, etc.)-we need to take territories
lost to the enemy back. As We move forward to put Satan under our feet we obey and
submit to God (daily), and He covers us.
As it says in Psalm 91, we are under His shadow. He has our backs, like they talk
about on military movies and cop shows. The weapons and tools in this battle are not
flesh(ly). They break down enemy strongholds. In Ephesians, the weapon in the Full
armor of God passage is the "sword the Holy Spirit wields". We are to obey and take
it up but He does the fighting. We use His name -His authority- His exousia, and His
power-dunamis.
As we renew our minds daily and cleanse them in the water of the Word, we
become more and more aware of God's hand of protection in our lives. Our faith,
reliance upon God becomes stronger. We move in His light and His glory surrounds
us. Darkness cannot overtake the Christian who is truly, fully submitted to God.
