We must set our mind. on God. The archer looks through the target, and sets his
aim. behind (through) it. The golf-pro... the same with his golf ball. Each of these
sports have their own peculiar stances. We, too, must stand on the Word of God in
submission to His righteousness and will, and Keep focused on our target-God's will
for us. No sloppy stances, part inside God's will----part out of line with the mind of
God, will ever allow us to win life's goal to live forever with God.
The nap of the grass around the hole must be read for the golf-pro to successfully
guide his ball into the hole, else the ball will roll away from the hole, and the losing
score gets higher, often it becomes harder to get the ball in the hole in lesser amounts
of attempts. We must read the Word of God in the light of the Holy Spirit. Without
His guidance and the plan we discover in the Word, and submitting to Him, our aim
will be off. It might be harder to get back on the right path if we do not practice what
we learn. Willfully ignoring the guidance of His Word will lead to well-practiced losing
and loss. This higher cost, leads to the ultimate loss, the death of our whole being and
separation from God, and eternal death lived eternally with the ultimate loser.
