Explain what is wrong with this verse.

Yes the word idiots is not on there. Which makes me wonder, why is it that when Jesus did not use such language so many of our elder christian representatives on here love to follow up their lessons with a good solid put down.

I don't see anywhere in the bible that Jesus did that.

Certainly is distasteful. The translators could have used better judgment in selecting the words they used in the passage given the modern usage for the idiot.

us humans get ourselves into trouble a lot when we start adding to the scripture things we think are implied, don't we? things that aren't actually in the text at all . . .

no doubt He has a sense of humor (see: irony in my life), but there's a way to say "yer doin' it wrong" without calling someone an idiot..

The greek word is....idiot....

but I think it carried a different meaning back then? ok maybe same meaning but people were not so sensitive over words and probably more bothered by things like abortion and worshiping the Creator in pagan ways as opposed to getting all up tight about being called an idiot?

Not sure why people are thinking the word idiot is in the text. My whole point being it isn't there.

That and if raca instead of idiot was used that would be a direct contradiction of Jesus' own words.
