If you read through the whole chapter, I think it becomes clear God is speaking of the restoration of His people the Jews, not only back to the Land but also Himself.
So in v.4 He is giving Ezekiel His prophetic Word beginning the revival process from dry bones to new Life.

I agree this was speaking about the nation of Israel being restored. But scriptures have such a beauty about them because this restoration message can be for a multitude of things. From a believer whose walk has grown cold to a body of believers about to spark revival, and so much more.
On a side note, this is my second favorite portion from the Book of Ezekiel. I just love the visuals I get while reading it. My first favorite, is the description of the Ancient One sitting on His throne, much like how we see in the Book of Revelation's.

Possibly the valley dissipates the water or sprint from our bones while we are parched for refreshing?
Yes, Scriptures normally have one interpretation (except maybe for double prophecies) but often many personal applications can be applied.
The use of the words Gog and Magog in Rev 20v8 show that there is some connection with Ezek 38 and 39. Certainly some of that prophecy cannot refer to the Great Tribulation, but it appears in some places to have a double fulfilment (in the Millennium). Ezek 38v8,11,14, 39v9-15...
Yes amen. I would want to share some thoughts, my own too. Yes agreeing, it could be taken as to a restoration, to many things, spiritually. A broken heart. It can be restored. It says, that words were spoken, to those dry bones. Another thought, the scripture that says, " a broken spirit, drieth the bones. " Blood is made in them, there the marrow is, and a broken heart, and a heaviness, affects the physical being, as in depression, the heaviness of the spirit, makes for just sleep, etc. I have no idea the depth of God's word. I know that this could apply to the human anatomey as in a broken spirit, and the effects of it, and the pysiology of how the brokeness affects the spirit of man. This indeed is a very deep miracle. My intake. Oh but oh so beautiful.

Back to himself. I am amazed how the human frame the bones could hold up a person, of so much weight. But when a slight leen frame, hits bottom, spirutally it is even hard to do little things, because of the broken spirit, that drieth the bones. Now science is right, saying, that depression, affects many things, physiology, how the body works, and even the hormones change and tests have been done, of finding different hormones in the blood, of a very depressed, or angry person.
Just an example of a spiritual metaphor, of the spirit. Even God said, I will give a human heart, one that will feel, dead bones got flesh, and sinews, and muscles, and nerves. God is GReat! Ya"ll!

We should not interpret prophesies in this way, that is for parabolic type of scripture.
The prophesy is a prophesy of hope to the remnant of isreal who havebeen cast out that god has not forgotten them or his promises to them

A broken heart, is a broken spirit, that's my understanding. Yet GOD IS ABLE! The one who RESTORED US, He restoreth my soul, yeah though I walk through the valley of the shadow's of death.

Amen, the Lord God is a restorer of broken hearts, he is able to give a new one, to say rise up.
Amen from brokeness to a new beginning, Behold a new thing, will I do. Plans of a future, and a hope, just as said, they lost hope, God is able!
remnants, in all the dead bones, God did say, I will gather them together. I think he was talking about Israel then, please correct me if I"m wrong. I'm going to read this entire book.
