How in the world is it so tempting online to talk to people who are not good? Somehow they know just what you need to hear in your moment of weakness!!! How can someone complete your thoughts or sentences without knowing you?

People the enemy of our souls is REAL and he knows us better than we know ourselves! He has generations to study us. He does not play fair and holds nothing back. His timing is spot on!!!

Strengthen yourself in the LORD and resist so that he will flee. Easier said than done I know.

For those out there who say "It's just harmless chat. It can't go any further", Dawn is absolutely right! Anything that poisons our minds or hearts is not harmless. Remember Christ's description of the devil, "He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies." (John 8:44) So, unless you want to "belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires.", it would be wise to avoid provocative online chat.

It's called social engineering, that "someone" proabably watched you for a long time before communicating to you. Stay away from those types. They are bad news.

hmmm Silverwind I have never heard of social engineering before. I'll check that out. I am shocked at home many think online affairs are not "real". As a women I know we invest emotionally and we tend to give everything.....not just a physical thing. ??? BUT praise God that when one does fall to temptation the Lord gracefully pulls us back into his arms of LOVE. Thanks for the replies yall!

1 Corinthians 6:13
No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.

I've heard it said before that the minute you feel like you're not being tempted at all is when we should be the most worried - because the devil feels secure in not having to tempt us. So being tempted, while sometimes difficult to deal with, is almost a compliment that you're worth trying to be pulled of track. Anyway, I always thought that was interesting concept...

Being tempted is part of life - but we are to practice RESISTING temptation and if it comes a point where one cannot resist anymore or acknowledges a weakness too strong to overcome, "if you don't want to get stung, don't go near the bee hive." I've never understood why one would subject themselves to strong temptation over and over, but then again... I don't claim to understand humanity. :-)

Peace.
