Faith alone or obedience: What does the Bible really teach about entering the kingdom of heaven?

God does not over look our sins (Rev 2,3) or see us through rose tinted glasses.
Christ has provided in the Atonement and through the gift of the Holy Spirit, provision for overcoming sinning.

Sin has no power over us any more our sins are dead with Christ on the cross the blood of Christ covers us and we sll sin no matter how much we may try not to we will fall short and fall into sin but this is when his grace and love covers us. yes we should do our best to avoid sin but when we do fall short this is when his love and grace comes in

With all due respect Blain, the word of God states otherwise.
We, in our own strength, cannot overcome sin, but through Christ's provision and the Spirit's enabling we can.
As Paul testified,' the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death' Rom 8.
This is not academic, many Christians have found the secret of the overcoming life, myself included.

Actually the bible says exactly what I said for instance Romans 5:20-21, which states, "But where sin increased, grace abounded all the more, so that as sin reigned in death, grace might also reign through righteousness leading to eternal life
through Jesus Christ".
This speaks on how sin is no more and his grace reigns love has replaced the law grace replaced sin and the blood that was shed covers us in his love and grace.
So you say you have found the secret so does that mean you never sin anymore?

It depends on your definition of sin. The Calvinist definition is too broad, being human is a sinful.

The essence of sin is a revolt against heaven. It is throwing over divine Lordship and assuming the reigns of one's own life.

Yes, accepting God/Christ as Lord means we no longer have the mortal/damning Sin of Disbelief,
although believers still commit various venial sins during the process of spiritual growth aka sanctification.

Belief/Faith is commanded. Belief/Faith is obedience.

Belief/Faith is commanded. Belief/Faith is obedience.

Command is a Law, that no one else can do perfect as is now done for us all by Son in his one time willing death, once for us all, that is done John 19:30
The new for us all is in the risen Jesus to get given us each if not yet got given it yet. Believe God, receive truth from God, and do in love and mercy to all too, no more having to think it over. Right is right and wrong is wrong. and we each automatically know this truth in ourselves

For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

People have made it hard, not seeing, it is finished for them to be new in the risen Son for them too and love all, over a few thank you Father and Son as Won for us all
