Immediately after God entered into covenant with Abram, He changed his name to Abraham. Can you imagine what he told his wife? He left home that morning as Abram and came back as Abraham (father of multitudes) and yet he had to wait a good 25 years before this promise would be fulfilled. During this 'waiting' time, the Bible tells us Abraham did not waiver, it says, "he staggered not." Abraham refused to be double-minded concerning what God said he was. No matter how he felt, or what other people said, Abraham only saw himself as God said he was. We should approach every promise of God with the same single minded attitude of faith and keep our focus on that. Kenneth Copeland once said that "focus is the bridge that vision travels on."

In the Book of James, we are taught to respond and pursue the promises of God by faith, without any wavering. When faith becomes an absolute, there is no place for doubt. That's because faith and doubt cannot co-exist. We either respond by faith and remain anchored in His Word, or we waver and become unstable in all our ways. Today, decide that whatever comes your way, you will keep your eyes solely focused on the Word, and the One from which it originated. Because you value, and trust in the Lord, you can completely value and trust every word He says about you. Trust Jesus to be the author and finisher of your faith.
