What are some thoughts you might have from Scripture about the faith of Christ. For me, I have many thoughts from Paul's epistles about the subject. This is a very important understanding to study out, "what we put our trust in" and how we recognize whose faith saves or is "saving faith". The bible says when we are unfaithful "He remains faithful", to His word, work and promise to redeem the purchased possession. The doctrine of the faith of Christ is needful to our inner man. I can do all things through Christ which strengtheth me, "for by faith ye stand." Please post an edifying verse for strength and encouragement about Christ's faith and faithfulness, thx.


Unity of faith.

*Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ


Fruit of the Spirit.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith


Armour of God.

Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.


Righteousness of God.

Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference

From faith to faith as it is written...

We believe into the message (our faith) at which time the (perfect faith OF Christ) takes over and saves/justifies/sanctifies us as the faith Of Christ is perfect, complete and eternal. Galatians as well as Ephesians speaks a lot to the faith OF Christ...

Galatians 2:16,20 3:22, Ephesians 2:8-10 (the faith mentioned is that NOT OF YOURSELVES)
 
Hebrews 12:1-2 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
 
Galatians 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
 
Starfield amen. He is the author, it is finished. When we trust in the faith of Christ, we have believed God's testimony. We become clothed by the righteousness of God, His faith becomes our personal possession as adopted heirs to the throne, children beloved by God.

Thank you for sharing this. I have a special place in my heart for an experience of the depth & truth of this verse... "And what is the exceeding greatness of His power to us-ward who believe"

Galatians 2:16

*Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

John 15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. :)

I can get so excited about sharing in the word of God! To complement your post;


1 Corinthians 3:21-23

*Therefore let no man glory in men. For all things are your's; Whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come; all are your's; And ye are Christ's; and Christ is God's.



(edit) ... you know, some scholars believe Apollos wrote Hebrews, because of the high greek style and a few select verses. I always found his named mentioned in the verse above interesting. Apollos is an interesting fellow.

Acts 3:16 By faith in the name of Jesus, this man whom you see and know was made strong. It is Jesus' name and the faith that comes through him that has completely healed him, as you can all see.

Yep, many statements of faith during the four gospels and early Acts ministries showed God's faithfulness. Some portions come to mind;

"I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God", "Lord, I believe, help thou mine unbelief"

"Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved"

Yahchanan (John) 8:24, "Because of this, I said to you that you will die in your sins; for if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins."

John 6:29, makes me think of many select verses, thx for sharing the faithfulness of God who would have all men to be saved. When I turned there in my Bible, I had only one verse marked!


No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.


And, the first part of the verse made me think of God's call in this dispensation, the "called of Christ"- by the ministry of reconciliation;

" 31*Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead."


"That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him... which He wrought in Christ when He raised Him from the dead."

The way and the truth and the life, indeed. In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of Him. Only way to the Father.

A slightly different take, but an important one:

"If I speak human or angelic languages but do not have love, I am a sounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith so that I can move mountains but do not have love, I am nothing." - 1 Corinthians 13.

Also, pretty much all of Hebrews 11 is great.
