The Samaritan knew Love, and Love knows the Samaritan.
If you think a person can love without knowing God, that is your perogative. As for me...
1 John 4:19 KJVS
[19] We love him, because he first loved us.

1 John 4:7-8,12-13 KJVS
[7] Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. [8] He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. [12] No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us. [13] Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit.

Love is not God although God is love.

Why would you say that I believe someone can love without knowing God?
I clearly stated that God is love (1 John 4:8 & 16).
If someone loves their neighbor they then know God (1 John 4:7).
The Samaritan who loved his neighbor and enemy therefore knew God, and was born of God, and God knows him.
The Lord will not tell the Samaritan to get away from Him, that He never knew Him, even if the Samaritan will never have professed His name, or cast out demons.

1 John 4:7 7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.

I never said the Samaritan wasn't saved. I just wouldn't use an illustrative story that was a response to the "question, "Who is my neighbor?" to establish a doctrinal point concerning ones' salvation, rather it answers the question, "Who is my neighbor?"
God is the Judge of whether we are loving other's or not...unless we want to set up a theocracy, a Little Geneva, where we become the judges of other men's motives.

OK. Just need to be aware that there will be they like the Samaritan who will have believed they did not know Christ, to whom Christ being love, will acknowledge; and there will be they who will have believed they knew Christ, to whom Christ being love, will declare He never knew them (Matthew 25:32-46).

Amen,

Three indicating the end of a matter. Three that make up the mystery of God. God is Love. God is Spirit. God is light.

God as a labor of His love performs many of his works to revel his person . First and foremost the love of God that works in us to both will and do his good pleasure God's love is patience. He suffers long with us all the days of our life. This shows us His love as a person (not an man as us) is kind. Only a love that is kind has no reason to envy. That love of God that works with us has no need to feel elevated as in "who is the greatest". It seeks the good it is working to produce in others. It is not self centered. Love rejoices with its fruit . And again because its first work is longsuffering to the end.... it can Bear all things, believe all things, hope all things, endure all things.

Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity (God), I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity(God),, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity (God),, it profiteth me nothing. Charity (God), suffereth long, and is kind; charity (God),envieth not; charity (God),vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;Beareth (God),all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.1 Corithian13: 1-7

So are you saying it is possible for people to die as Muslims, Buddhists, atheists etc., that will enter heaven because they were 'good samaritans? ...because that's what fits your explanation above.

as well as God became man, lived a sinless life in our stead, bore our sins and the wrath of God on the cross which we deserved, died, was buried, rose from the dead on the third day in His body, ascended to the heavens where He is seated at the right hand of the Father, interceding for us, and will come again one day to Judge the earth...

Isaiah 11:4 (KJV) But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked.

the first thing that we both take note of is, that first a 'priest' passed-by -
and then a 'Levite' passed-by -
the story is telling us that the 'established-religious-order' had it wrong -
they were NOT OBEYING the basic premise of 'Love Thy Neighbor and to Love God' -
and God's Word is Eternal...
in Jewish eyes at that time, your 'neighbor' was only 'another Hebrew or one converted to Judaism' -
so, Christ is manifesting the Truth that all human-beings were created by Him and if you Love the least of them,
you also Love Him -
as it is written:
'I Love those that Love Me'.

I am saying that if a Muslim, Buddhist, or even a self professed atheist, believes in loving their neighbor; these individuals then believe in love who is God, and are born of God according to 1 John 4:7.

1 John 4:7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.

I definitely disagree as Islam, Buddhists and atheists all deny Jesus and therefore have no LIFE in them.

And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
(Act 4:12)

1Jn_2:22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.

2Jn_1:7 For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.

That's the spirit of the age, God is love, just love it doesn't matter and you will be saved<----NOT.

And why do you think some of the sheep who will have thought they did not believe in Jesus, the Lord tells them that they did believe in Him? (Matthew 25:37-40)

Matthew 25:37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?

38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?

39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?

40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

Look at the context. That judgment happens after the Tribulation and it involves the Gentiles (nations)(vs.32) and how they treated the 'least of these MY brethren', IOW the believing Jews during the Tribulation. Being born again, they were made righteous and being righteous they helped the believing Jews during their darkest hour in world history.

But what has that all got to do with my post where I said...

This is what I see described in 1 John 2:22.
Christ by definition means Savior.
Christ saves individuals from their wrong path/way, leading them on a correct Path/Way.
They who deny Christ, deny the Path/Way that Christ laid out, being to love God and your neighbor.
The Samaritan and others like him acknowledge Christ when they love their neighbors.

I like to keep it simple and stick to God's Word.
They who love their neighbors, are born of God, and God knows them.
They who do not love their neighbors, are not born of God, and the Lord does not know them, no matter what they profess, or good works they may do.

We are not saved by our good works no matter how many, we are saved by His Good Work. Get a handle on that instead of all the humanistic gibberish you have been feeding on.

Agreed, we are not saved by our doing good works. We are saved by what we believe in; which in turn manifests itself in our works.
The Samaritan believed in loving his neighbor, which manifested itself in his mercy toward his enemy.

Actually it is not what we believe on that saves us, but Who we believe on and that goes hand in hand with the New Birth which good works is a fruit of.

I have tied scriptures with scriptures confirming what believing in Christ means, which is to love ones neighbor.

Instead of raising an empty accusation that my perspective is circular reasoning leading to a smoking pit, maybe you could explain how so?
